Primary 2010 has come and gone. I am sure most are saying “good riddance!”

Denver County Results:

Democrats:

Romanoff 53%

Bennet 47%

SD34:

Guzman 62%

Judd 38%

HD4:

Pabon 40%

Tafoya 34%

Coken 26%

HD5:

Duran 57%

Thrun 43%

HD7:

Williams 57%

Fallon 100% (the other guy withdrew after ballots were printed so his votes were not counted)

In all of the statewide races, Denver went the opposite direction as the rest of the state. That is highly unusual and I suppose is a testament to “politics turned on its head” nature of this election cycle.

SD34, HD7, and HD9’s outcomes should have been a surprise to no one.

HD5’s was the hardest to get a read on since there was a significant amount of under the surface issues going on in that race.

In HD4, I was very surprised by the outcome. Maybe people closer to the district/campaigns had a better feel for them than I. I have known Jennifer Coken for some time and know what an excellent campaigner she is. To come in such a distant 3rd totally shocked me. I had been of the impression this race was between her and Pabon with Tafoya being a spoiler, but the results would suggest it was Coken who was the spoiler here.
