With three military bases, as well as the Air Force Academy located nearby, members of Colorado's 5th congressional district sit on the front lines of the government shutdown. Now with a chunk of its population suddenly out of work, some are wondering what their congressman, Doug Lamborn, plans to do about it. Anna Werner reports.

No need to wonder, Lamborn will do nothing, as usual. Because he's from a "safe R" district, these same deluded folks will likely vote him right back in next cycle.
Now that we are promised we will be paid I am sure the maroons must think we will support their madness. Hell no.
yeah, they'll get paid. But, work is not being accomplished, particularly in areas that greatly impact local economies such as EPA, USGS,Parks, etc
Voters who select far right and Tea Party candidates have only themselves to blame. It's the GOP that throws tantrums and holds the government hostage when they don't get their way, whether it's about a law they couldn't stop and can't repeal or about not being invited to sit with the cool kids on the President's plane.
You want grown ups in charge, don't vote for these people. You want a government that works, don't vote for people who think government can't possibly work and then set out to prove it.
Boo hoo, Colorado Springs. You're an anti-government government town, with your concentration of military in all its forms. Will you turn off rightie radio long enough to think about how that makes no sense? Nope.
You're probably still listening and hearing that your Tea Party heroes love the shut down that's teaching everyone that getting along without government is no big deal while they also think it's really bad and mean and all the liberals' fault. And that's probably still making sense to you and you still think Lamborn is a terrific Rep.
You get what you vote for. That's how it works.
