That's cool, Senate GOP. Since you don't appreciate them, we'll just take away your weekends, your 401K, your 40 hour work week (j/k – we know you might work 20 hours in a good week), your health benefits, and your due process. All of these were fought for by working people in the unions you despise so much. Nobody handed them to workers just to be nice.
Here's a couple of reminders of life without unions. (Pardon the poor English – I didn't write the meme, but checked it, and it is true. )
And I was curious about the sugar beet industry history here in NoCo, and found this gem.
Before mandatory public school, before full day kindergarten, before pre-school and Head Start programs, before child labor laws, and before unions – how sugar beets got picked – sugar beet workers in Sugar City, Colorado.
I remember that top story quite clearly. So very sad.
Here's Obama opening a can of whuppass on the Republican view that our Corporate Masters should be given more and more:
Please tell me McDonald’s is in trouble financially: http://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stock/mcd/financials
Besides the fact that they can afford to pay their workers more, it is quite insidious that they would say they control 99% of the operational standards of a franchisee but that the employees are out of their control and they have no say in employee relations.
(it only likes the yt link on Chrome after you refresh…..don't know why.)
A little history lesson on just how far the Party of Lincoln has dived in to the cesspool…
Screw you very much, 21st century GOP. May you soon be relegated to the dust heap of history. The only good Republican is a defeated, out of office Republican. Oh, and…. Happy Labor Day!![smiley smiley](https://cdn.ckeditor.com/4.5.1/full-all/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png)
The party of Lincoln, and of Eisenhower, would not recognize today's GOP.
Is our little watermelon farmer moonlighting as a media consultant to the state senate majority comms office?
Angry pointless assholes…
