This is not the first time this has happened at a Republican Convention in Colorado. The two that most come to my mind are John Cogswell in the 1980 US Senate race (ending his rousing speech with a recitation of the pledge of allegiance) and Vickie Buckley, a low level employee of the Secretary of State's office who knocked off a couple of heavy weights to be the only Republican on the ballot. Cogswell came in fourth in a four way primary contest and Buckley who was a nice enough person, turned into one of the worst Secretary's of State. Hmmm.
Do you remember what became of her, Craig? She died several years ago of a heart condition; it calcified-literally turned to stone. Just think about that for a minute.
It's encouraging that we have a political system in Colorado where individual speeches can still matter.
I'm already liking this guy …
… if only for the fact he's the reason I'm no longer forced to vote for Bennet just to keep Neville out of the Senate!
