Soapblox is pretty cool blogging software but I hate the fact that when one comment is deleted, so is everything that follows, instead of maybe the comments remaining with the deleted comments showing as “deleted.”
So, this is in reference to the attempted outing of Laughing Boy by MCpc. Pols, what happened? Did you just delete the comments? Or did you also ban the user? I’m curious.

They’re separate functions actually, banning a user does not remove their comments.
Unfortunately, when the parent comment is deleted all replies to it are as well, and we have no way presently to simply edit a comment.
I find that to be rather frustrating about Soapblox. But it’s its only serious drawback IMO.
they rarely do it. It was definitely warranted though.
I appreciate you doing both. That guy would have ran people off of this blog like crazy.

I’m going to try to ID LB at the next meetup.

Pols, well done. Thank you.
I think it’s perfectly appropriate to delete the subsequent comments; otherwise readers can pretty much figure out what was said based on the responses. (Even if you didn’t intend to do that, I think it would have made sense.)
