Actually, it is not Gardner that shook up the Senate.
The American voter shook up the political class in November and things are just percolating through the system.
Some statists, like Schumer are just a little slow to figure it out.
When they lose more Senators in 2018 they may get a clue, but probably not.
We'll look for you right-wing bitches and stooges to be whining and howling to the moon when later, we appoint Elizabeth Warren — or more likely, a liberal far, far younger, and several of them — to the Supreme Court.
And you bitches won't be able to do a thing to stop us!

I have reasonable confidence that Trump (or Pence) will lose in 1306 days, 9 hours, and 38 minutes, but can the Dems take the Senate in 2018? If so, the sweeter revenge will be the declaration by the new majority that President Trump (or Pence) will have to wait until after the next election to replace any more justices.
Otherwise known as the McConnell/McCain Rule since, as we all know, Republicans have a deep and abiding respect for rules and traditions.
We are therefore bound to not approve any more GOP nominees should we regain the majority.
