At Least You Know How To Tweet

A variation on our “At Least He’s Not Your Legislator” theme, the AP reports from Zion:

Republican Utah Attorney General Mark Shurt leff sent out half a dozen Twitter messages Tuesday revealing details of his yet-to-be announced U.S. Senate campaign that were solely intended for his spokesman.

Shurtleff has repeatedly said he’s interested in challenging fellow Republican Bob Bennett, and he is expected to announce his candidacy next week.

In messages accidentally sent to more than 1,600 followers, Shurtleff wrote about fundraising, and being endorsed by a legislative conservative caucus as well as other senators and representatives.

Shurtleff wrote that it is “time to rock and roll.” Within minutes of posting, the messages – tweets – were removed from Shurtleff’s Twitter page.

In one tweet, Shurtleff wrote, “I just realized that I was responding to a text from u. I’m going to pull it off immediately.”

A few seconds letter, Shurtleff wrote: “Take down my last reply to Ben Cannati too. His tweets to me say ‘direct from Ben,’ so I thought my reply would go directly back just to him.”

Well it did, of course, and the rest of the world too. Oops!

On the other hand, Twitter might be the perfect way for Scott McInnis to cut out the middleman.

  1. We finally agree on something, Pols. Stupid Utahns.

Scott McInnis is a great American and will make a great governor, enough of last week’s smear guys?

  2. Can you imagine this? Just to capture more attention, Attorney General Mark Shurt leff learns how to tweet. He’s funny! Try to focus on more important issues in our economy. Politicians are all the same, at first they look promising but at the end they are nothing! In relation to nations’ present issues, maybe you did not hear about bank stress test results. These results might determine what banks are going to get help, and which ones are going to not get considered as the right investment for any more recovery funds.  Bank of America has the most debt; they have to raise about $34 billion to still be solid.  That’s far more than most installment loans will cover, that’s for sure.  Among the mega firms of the banking industry, JP Morgan Chase remains one of the hugest groups that, according to the bank stress test results, are in relatively good health.
