An eagle-eyed reader forwarded us a photo reportedly taken yesterday in Anaheim, California: while Colorado’s senior U.S. Senator Michael Bennet holds public town halls across the state, Sen. Cory Gardner is celebrating the U.S. Senate’s votes to repeal the Affordable Care Act by going to Disneyland!
Where he didn’t take questions, being busy (pardon us) picking winners.
It’s important to understand the full context of this photo: Sen. Bennet is holding packed town hall meetings across the state during this August recess, while Sen. Gardner was more or less hornswaggled into answering questions in public at an impromptu “town hall” in Durango last week–that being Gardner’s first public event in over a year and a half. Gardner made vague promises under fire at that meeting to hold more public events, but as of this writing none have been scheduled.
And now he’s at Disneyland.
Gardner’s lack of availability to his own constituents has become a major point of discussion this year, playing a role in Gardner’s approval rating plunging below 25% among Colorado voters. At this point, it’s very hard to understand why Gardner hasn’t just taken his lumps and put an end to the negative press.
But for some reason, he hasn’t.
It’s a safe bet that pic(k)s of Gardner frolicking at Disneyland will do very little to improve those poll numbers.

Is Trump there too? Gardner is holding his nose. Is he downwind?
Is he looking for the glorious victory his party so desperately needs?
Stalking a man on vacation with his family. What the hell is wrong with the left?
I know Moldy. Playing Dodgevoter is hard. That's why Cory so desperately needs a vacation. So he can come back with the energy to bring the victory the GOP needs so badly.
Also, not everything Cory Gardner does is evil.
Donning a pair of mouse ears is not evil.
"Short, fat nerd picks nose at Disneyland while engaging in complete dereliction of duty and cravenly hiding out from constituents."
Suck on THAT, Shemp.
Now all we need is a pic of Con Man Chauncey scratching his fat ass while still hundreds of miles away, avoiding his constituents.
Hey!!! On behalf of nerds everywhere, I demand an apology! We deserve better than to have Gardner lumped in our group.
To be fair, he does need a vacation. Doing all of that nothing must be tiring. He needs a break so he can relax and unwind….so he's all refreshed and ready to get back to doing more nothing when the Senate is back in session!
Dodgevoter is a really hard game.
There is always fundraising. Sucking up to rich people for $$$ is exhausting.
It's been a while . . .
. . . I was beginning to wonder if you hadn't gone into some kind of witless-protection program??
Speaking of witless, please 'splain how your deduced "stalking" from that photo???
(ps. You sure that that's not a picture of the elusive yellow-belly kochsucker?)
The Senate is in a "non-legislative period" for a "State Work Period." It said so on its calendar. So finding out what sort of work is being done is understandable.
I don't begrudge Sen. Gardner (and his family) a Disneyland vacation. But really, Moderatus, people in the public eye, including Senators, have their picture taken. It is hardly "stalking."
"State Work Period"
After the town hall meeting in Durango, state work periods are too difficult and unpleasant for him.
Once you have actually kissed Trump's butt, the nose can never fully recover. Trumpstink will be with Cory always.
V. We must Keep Calm and realize Not Everything Cory Gardner does is Evil.
Gardner rode in a closed-cab tractor in the Yuma County parade August 6. He didn't talk to anyone who wanted to talk politics, and fled from these bold young ladies, (Las Estrellas) who wanted to discuss the DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, an Obama-era law which has been threatened by Trump. Michael Bennet, on the other hand, opened the parade, and made himself available to talk with constituents in Yuma.

A rare moment of astral doings and permutations: I actually agree with Moderatus on something. Nothing wrong with spending part of the Senate recess taking your YOUNG kids to DisneyLand.
To quote unnamed: "not everything Cory Gardner does is evil."

The Springs and Greeley should be friendly territory for him. Lakewood normally would not be but isn't Colorado Christian University the madras John Andrews operates?
Greeley is pretty liberal, with UNC and all. Oil and gas and meat industries control the town, but they don't actually represent many voters. There have been plenty of protests against Gardner and for keeping the ACA in Greeley.
It will be interesting to see how much CCU screens and controls the crowd, and how they handle protesters. My bet is on extensive, possibly violent, police presence, confronting grey-haired boomers (because of the work day timing of the town hall.
No Idea where the dweeby, pencil-necked mayor of Backbone shops . . .
. . . but his madrasa could really use a dress code!
