President Trump finally found some time to condemn the KKK and other white supremacist groups today. As CNN reports:
“Racism is evil — and those who cause violence in its name are criminals and thugs, including KKK, neo-Nazis, white supremacists, and other hate groups are repugnant to everything we hold dear as Americans,” Trump said in response to the attacks in Charlottesville, Virginia, over the weekend…
The comments came in a hastily scheduled White House event in the Diplomatic Reception Room, where Trump — speaking with the help of a teleprompter — spoke straight to camera after meeting with FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Jeff Sessions to discuss the Department of Justice’s civil rights investigation into the attack…
…Trump had been excoriated for his unwillingness to condemn the groups behind the violent protests that left one woman dead who was hit by a car allegedly driven by a man with ties to white supremacy groups.
After blaming the violence “on many sides” Saturday, Trump stayed silent for close to 48 hours, letting his trademark bluntness and campaign pledges to call terrorism what it is succumb to silence and vagueness.
Trump was asked by reporters after he spoke why he waited so long to condemn these hate groups by name and did not respond.
You can read Trump’s full comments here. Yes, he really did kick things off by talking about the economy.

Weak. Lame. Utterly phony. We KNOW why it took so long.
No one is fooled. trump is un-American, racist, and a Nazi sympathizer/supporter.
And besides, we all know only Democrats use Tele-Prompters. And play lots of golf. And run up big, taxpayer-funded bills on vacation.
Isn’t that right, hypocrite trolls?
Oh crap! Trump has done it now……….. 12 PolCats are upset.
He'll always have you and the rest of his racist base . . .
. . . his actions and non-actions over the past two days have got to be making all your black hearts bleed lily whiter again, eh Pfruit?
So my initial impressions of your racist personality was correct. You don't seem at all concerned by hatred and bigotry in our nation but use your sentences to insult and disparage your fellow writers. Why don't you reach deep into your shallow soul and try to find something to say that doesn't reveal your brotherhood with other evil and phony Pro-Lifers.
Here is something weird to think about Pear. How about you writing something about what bigotry and hatred mean to you personally or are you one of those Pro-Life phonies who believes the opposite of whatever the Libtards believe so that if they are against bigotry and racism then you are all for them? Is that your Cosmic understanding of the Universe. Libtards don't like racists so I love them. Libtards are for a multi-cultural society where every citizen should have the right to vote their conscience so I'm for White Supremacy and making it impossible for people with a darker pigment in their skin to cast their votes.
What kind of a 'Christian' are you Pear? Please help us understand your attitudes towards racism and bigotry and why you thought Trumps lifeless denunciations of the violence and loss of life in Virginia was just peachy with you. Remember your God is watching your actions.
Ya' think he gave back that . . .
endorsement800-thread count pima cotton pillowcase??In light of today's screeding, it would appear that Grand Lizard has taken another mulligan?!?
He's keeps the hood, and the endorsement . . .
Too late, cupcake.
I taught communication for a number of years. I find it positively painful to see the lame, uninspired, inept "speeches" given by Mr. Trump. I assume it is the outcome of his faith that his own communication style of "authenticity" works, poor hiring habits applied to the communication staff, and his paranoid response to any criticism.
The result is criticized from every angle — most telling from my perspective are the remarks of two who wrote speeches for Presidents. Michael Gerson and James Fallows are ideologically different, but each has a respect for rhetorical craft. Both excoriated Trump's original comments on Charlottesville. Gerson's take began with "Trump’s reaction to events in Charlottesville was alternately trite (“come together as one”), infantile (“very, very sad”) and meaningless (“we want to study it”). " Fallows began "Donald Trump had such a [rhetorical] challenge, and moment, and responsibility, and opportunity yesterday, after the Nazi violence in Charlottesville, Virginia. And he failed, abysmally."
Even as someone who dearly hopes for confusion and inability to enact the Republican agenda or the Trump desires, I find myself wishing there were competent people helping Trump become Presidential for moments such as this. Reagan, for all his failings, knew how to sketch out a response and had a competent to excellent group writing for him: his Challenger speech will be appreciated and studied for a long time. Nixon is among the most base and vile individuals to hold national office, but he and his speech writers appreciated their roles. Check out Nixon's undelivered speech prepared for a tragedy with the moon mission. Trump needs to find some moments of grace, showing awareness of the ceremonial needs of the office.
I thought he was going to hire the best people of all time. I guess he didn't give the definition of best as being the biggest liars.
I still think he's waffling. The "other hate groups" could easily be interpreted by his followers as referring to such things as Black Lives Matter.
Or Climate Scientists.
Or news reporters . . .
. . . or pretty much anyone not willing to fawningly acknowledge Hair Childling's magnificent yugeness . . .
Donald Trump is really mad that he was forced to condemn white supremacists.

Childish vindictive self-absorbed petulance, thy name is “Mr. President”
No wonder he has enemies. Anybody who has a shred of decency in their soul would be opposed to his destructive, insatiable instincts. He should be paranoid of all the sane people who are genuinely shocked by his behavior.
