BREAKING: HHS Secretary Tom Price Resigns

CNN not quite caught up with the breaking news:

Departing the White House for his golf club in New Jersey, Trump told reporters Price was a “very fine man,” but that he was undecided on his fate.

“We’re going to make a decision sometime tonight,” Trump said.

He bemoaned the optics of the matter, which he said obscured what otherwise had been a cost-saving tenure.

“It’s not a question of confidence — I was disappointed because i didn’t like it cosmetically or otherwise. I was disappointed. And you know, this is an administration that saves hundreds of millions of dollars on renegotiating things, on new trade deals that will be — you’ll be seeing the results very soon,” Trump said. “We’re renegotiating NAFTA, we renegotiating so many things and making much better deals. You’ll be seeing other things come up. So I don’t like to see somebody that, perhaps, there’s the perception that it wasn’t right.”

A short while ago, the statement went out on the Twitters:

Tom Price’s resignation comes after the disclosure of hundreds of thousands of dollars of private jet travel improperly booked by Price in carrying out his duties to promote destroy health care reform, of which Price promised to reimburse a small fraction while apologizing earlier this week. After the failure by Congress to pass a repeal of the Affordable Care Act, Price was already en route from Donald Trump’s list of winners to the list of losers–and as you know, Donald Trump doesn’t like losers. Hell, Trump doesn’t even like P.O.Ws.

Swamp drained yet, folks?

  1. Did he charter a plane to take him back to Georgia?

It is ironic that he gave up a House seat he could have held forever in order to ride the roller coaster for nine months.

Sessions will be the next to experience that.

As Ken Buck might say, "Buyer's remorse?"

  2. Now didn't the Treasury Secretary, Steven Munchin, take his bride on a government paid trip to Fort Knox to look at the gold bullion?  And Ryan Zinke took an industry-paid "free" (right) flight from AZ to Montana?

    When are they leaving?
