ColoradoPols makes national press--again!

  • by: JO

This time it’s Boston Globe, July 17:  http://www.boston.com/bostongl…

Key passage:

” Recently, a few political scientists have begun to discover a human tendency deeply discouraging to anyone with faith in the power of information. It’s this: Facts don’t necessarily have the power to change our minds. In fact, quite the opposite. In a series of studies in 2005 and 2006, researchers at the University of Michigan found that when misinformed people, particularly political partisans, were exposed to corrected facts in news stories, they rarely changed their minds. In fact, they often became even more strongly set in their beliefs. Facts, they found, were not curing misinformation. Like an underpowered antibiotic, facts could actually make misinformation even stronger.”

OK, so they didn’t actually name the site, but surely it qualifies as Exhibit A.

  1. OK, so they didn’t actually name the site, but surely it qualifies as Exhibit A.

Wait til you get a load of new polster bjwilson83. He is Exhibit A.

  2. Inane crap like this only proves to me that Romanoff is the new Mike Miles.

Between now and August 10th, there is going to be a lot of it I think. The desperate make a lot of noise as they fade into irrelevance.

  3. The post, and the article quoted, mentioned no one and no faction, on this blog or in general. Still, the sentiment apparently sparked in a few a sense of…errrr…. self recognition, which in turn generated a need to offer a fresh dose of verbal venom.

By their own posts shall they be known … not mine!  All the same, to those, my thanks to those for making my point far more persuasively than I could have.
