The Donald and Cory Show Open Thread

UPDATE: Colorado Public Radio reports, together forever:

Between sweeping tributes to American greatness, sinister warnings and teases about the Space Command — along with complaints about fake news and the Oscars — the president showered praise on Sen. Cory Gardner, the Yuma Republican.

“We are going to win Colorado in a landslide. And you’re going to help us get Cory Gardner across that line, because he’s been with us 100 percent,” Trump said. “There was no waiver. We appreciate it. Thank you, Cory. Thank you.”

It was just the first of several times in the speech that the president praised Gardner and urged the crowd to support his reelection. Later, he described the freshman senator as “rock solid.”

They’re counting down the hours now in Colorado Springs to the arrival of President Donald Trump, newly-announced surprise guest Vice President Mike Pence, and the man of the hour GOP Senator Cory Gardner at the Broadmoor World Arena–and in case you’re not in the crowd either attending or protesting outside, here’s where you can watch the main event live later today (expected to begin around 5:00 pm):

The crowd waiting outside is chilly but well-bundled under Trump-branded swag and MAGA hats:

We’ll update as the mutual admiration magic between Gardner and Trump unfolds this evening! By November Gardner may regret it dearly, but for the present it’s a day to remember. Stay tuned.

  1. Gonna’ be a tough day for the Orange Idiot to keep his yuge stable-genius mind on remembering to make the weasel Senator hanging outta’ his ass look senatorial . . .

. . . what with having to worry about getting Stone a pardon before he starts to crack??

I hope some reporters get up in Ttump’s Cheetos-stained mug.  It’d be a great day for a major meltdown!

  2. It must be rewarding to have this opportunity to let it go and get your full hate on. Truly, if ever a crowd could fairly be called a mob…this qualifies.

If you have ever attended a professional wrestling event, you get the idea. 😝

    1. I have some friends in the Springs, even some Rs.
      They aren’ that nutjobbish.
I hate that so many Trump supporters seem to like him partly only because he agitates the Ds.

Did any of the the attendees get paid to fill seats?

    1. Imaginary pipelines are pipelines, too!!

Something to do with that previous claim of having provided clean drinking water????

      (”For 50,000.”  Yep.  Got It.)

And, anyway, you’ve just illustrated the biggest problem that too many Democrats have . . .

. . . they regularly fail to understand, or appreciate, the value of just making shit up, and lying out their ass.   Ttump and Gardner are not so thusly hindered . . .

      1. I guess you’re right – 28 million is budgeted for the Arkansas Valley conduit from the Pueblo Dam to some of the drought stricken rural communities east of there…which sounds like a great idea. I spent some time in Manzanola a couple of years ago, and they are hurting for lack of water.

The problem is, that climate change is still frying the whole Pueblo area. And upstream polluters are dumping PFAs and PCBs and gawdknows what else into the water.

So building a long pipeline isn’t going to help much if there isn’t enough clean water to fill it.

  3. I just got back from Amy Klobuchar’s rally in Aurora.  About 3,000 attendees, I guess.  She understands that Sanders cannot beat Trump.  So, I suggested in the rope line that she ask Sanders how he will pay for his $50 Trillion in plan costs.  She agreed, for what that’s worth.  I mean, someone’s got to do that!

  4. the president showered praise on Sen. Cory Gardner

Cory isn’t stupid. He knows in Colorado, our brilliant sunlight adds a certain yellow/golden hue to Trump’s showers.

K Street might beckon as a result.
