Where Do You Buy One Of Dan Woog's $25 Burgers?

  • by: Colorado Pols

When we last encountered former state Rep. Dan Woog, running again for the Colorado House in Erie’s HD-19, he seemed to be lost deep in somebody’s cornfield with voices manifesting either in his head or in the background in what we think was a parody of the movie Field of Dreams, although Woog never left the cornfield for us to be sure. But sometime since then, we can confirm that Woog did escape the cornfield, after which he apparently became hungry as people who get lost in cornfields tend to become and headed to his nearest family feedbag for a burger.

Which is where we once again lost the plot:

In this short video intended for consumption with the volume down since there are no spoken words, Woog lays out why hamburgers in Colorado now supposedly cost $24.99:

The House district ex-Rep. Woog is running for includes the towns of Frederick, Dacono, and Erie, all of which have a selection of perfectly fine eateries as well as cornfields to get lost in. But after a few moments of due diligence with online menus available for restaurants in these locales, we haven’t found a single $25 hamburger for sale anywhere in Woog’s would-be district. Now obviously, we wouldn’t be shocked to learn that at some high-end Denver steakhouse or Aspen whiskey bar there is indeed a hamburger available at such a lofty price, but even if there is, there’s still a McDonald’s down the street with a Big Mac around six dollars.

Either Dan Woog only eats out at places the average person avoids after checking the menu in the window, or he’s as out of touch with economic reality as Donald Trump who ridiculously claims food prices have “quadrupled” since he left office. When you make wildly exaggerated claims that voters invalidate with their own everyday experience, it’s not persuasive beyond those who don’t want to know the truth.

Anyway, if you do find out where Dan Woog’s mythical $25 hamburger is, and you have the disposable income to eat one, let us know what you think.

It had better be one tasty burger.

      1. Bret was eating a Big Kahuna Burger. Vincent was discussing the differences of nomenclature with respect to the metric system with Jules prior to this scene.

Even with fresh cut grilled pineapple on the burger I think it would be under $20.

  1. I couldn’t resist a quick search. The closest I got was 20 bucks at the 5280 Burger Bar in Downtown Denver. https://www.5280burgerbar.com/order#menu?location=downtown-denver

    1. I found “The W” on East Colfax with their “Big Wig” burger for $22 (including fries)

      Big Wig

Two of our signature patties topped with pulled pork belly bacon, white cheddar, onion, pickled jalapeno, tomato, lettuce, pickle and The W sauce

My wife, bless her heart, loves the $19 Pub burger (including fries) at Culinary Dropout at 9th and Colorado.

      • The Pub Burger* 19

        havarti, bacon, house bbq sauce

        Add Egg* 2

I should add that she gets two meals out of it, and I usually get a few bites too 🙂

  2. Gosh this restaurant must make a vanishingly small amount of burgers for those mostly one-time fees to make such an impact. I would think that things like rents, remodels, equipment, ingredients, labor, etc. might be a much larger share.

  3. You know what happens when you eat somewhere without licenses, permits, and regulation? You get crippling food poisoning a la Boebert's BBQ. Dan Woog should go for it!

  4. I was going to calculate how many McDonald's burger patty would have to be bought to make a $25 burger. However; the Rockies had hit a double in the last game so Double Cheeseburgers are free with a $1 purchase.
