How You Like Dave Williams Now, Colorado?

  • by: Colorado Pols

On the morning after the election last Wednesday, embattled-then-vindicated chairman of the Colorado Republican Party Dave “Brandon Forever” Williams sent out an email blast celebrating Donald Trump’s nationwide victory, side-stepping the obvious problem that Trump for a third consecutive election failed to carry the state of Colorado.

Radical Democrats, and even sell out RINO’s like Dick Wadhams, said President Donald J. Trump was going to lose, hurt out Party and down ballot nominees across the county. They even tried to trick you into abandoning your Christian, conservative values so they could justify their failure and false claims.

Thankfully, radical Democrats, the fake news, and corrupt Never-Trump nuts like Dick Wadhams were dead wrong…

The fake news media, the leftist pundits, and RINO’s, like Dick Wadhams, will try to spin these results and downplay everyone and everything to fit their lies.

But here’s the truth… all the credit belongs to you, and to President Trump who always kept fighting for you.

Because of your faithfulness to our conservative, America-First values, Colorado and the nation are now in a better spot. Remember, President Trump and the MAGA movement are the reason for these successes so don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise.

Unfortunately for Williams’ detractors including the oft-derided former Colorado GOP chairman Dick Wadhams, despite all of the controversy over Williams’ self-serving leadership and lack of any real desire let alone the resources to manage the coordinated campaign normally carried out with candidates up and down the ballot, the Colorado GOP under Williams managed to outperform the last several Republican chairpersons in terms of actual gains at the polls. Since Williams sent out this self-congratulatory email blast last Wednesday morning, Republicans have chipped away steadily at the Democratic state house supermajority. With the concession last night by Democratic incumbent Rep. Yadira Caraveo in the nationally-pivotal CO-08 race, Colorado as it turns out did not emerge from the 2024 “red wave” unscathed.

The problem, of course, comes once you look any deeper. After transforming the Colorado GOP into a vehicle for the promotion of favored candidates in Republican primaries starting with Dave Williams personally and including Rep.-elect Gabe Evans’ GOP primary opponent Janak Joshi, the state party under Williams basically checked out of the general election cycle. Individual Republican candidates were left largely on their own to organize and coordinate their field campaigns, while Republican congressional candidates like Evans bypassed the Colorado GOP in favor of mail pieces paid for by the Arizona Republican Party.

After years of historic losses, even the small burst of wind in the sails for Colorado Republicans in what was a vastly better night for Republicans nationally feels like a win for them, and the bottom line is that Dave Williams was in charge of the Colorado GOP when that occurred even if he did basically nothing to bring it about. Williams took control of the Colorado GOP with now-President-re-elect Trump’s full-throated support, and Trump only switched his personal endorsement of Williams for Congress after Jeff Crank beat Williams like rented mule in the June 25th primary.

Due to the court ruling in late September that the vote to remove Williams convened by dissidents led by pretender-chairman Eli Bremer was invalid, the possibility of Williams being removed before the end of his regular term as chairman next March evaporated. In the two competing votes to reject and reaffirm Williams’ chairmanship, the latter vote organized by Williams loyalists received more votes in favor of keeping Williams than the vote to oust Williams tallied.

With all of this in mind, a possibility once as unthinkable as Donald Trump returning to the White House must now be considered: that Williams could actually be re-elected Colorado GOP chairman next March. At this point, there is no outcome-based reason for that not to happen.

Dave Williams may have enemies in his own party, but he also has the only friend that mattered this year.

  1. Remember, President Trump and the MAGA movement are the reason for these successes so don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise.

Nice dodge attempt, but sorry, Dave. Every real MAGAbody knows that real MAGA is for winners only, and last anybody checked, well, you ain’t anything close to being that.  At your best you’ve been just another incompetent halfassed teetsucking loser WHINO.  Time to stop dragging down the winners’ Party (there will be retribution).

  2. So far, the tally for Colorado Republicans in the Trump era (2016-2024) is:

    • 0 for 3 for Trump as President
    • 0 for 3 for US Senate
    • 0 for 8 for Governor, AG, SoS, and Treasurer
    • 2016 election for Senate Partisan Breakdown: Democrats  17  Republicans  18
    • 2024 election for Senate Partisan Breakdown: Democrats 23 Republicans 12 — MINUS 6
    • 2016 election for House Partisan Breakdown:  Democrats 37 Republicans 28
    • 2024 election for House Partisan Breakdown: Democrats  43 Republicans 20 (and leading in 2 other yet-to-be-called races) MINUS 6
