YES HE DID. Political FAIL. However the lefts attack against him as a racist murderer may have influenced that.
Having lived in Forrest Hills ,NY rode the subway everywhere including getting to flights in my AA uniform, it is without reservation I can say I would have done the same thing as Penny.
The out of control nuts on the subway generally are ignored but when someone does what the perpetrator announced he would have been restrained at least, most likely knocked out by the Jewish Russian thugs sitting next to me.
Penny did the right thing with someone threatening and jacked up on drugs. Let them up and they go off worse.
Penny is a marine so moderating his chokehold while having the sick perp on top of him is not recommended

Penny did not do the right thing and he's absolutey a representation of MAGA thinking. Why de-escalate a situation when you can murder them instead? If "doing the right thing" means killing someone if they seem threatening then there's plenty of January 6 attackers that should've been choked out.

How many of respondents have been trained as a USMC ?
How many have ever been trained in lethal force and used it in combat?

Im liberal but served in combat. Lived in NYC rode subway daily. In airline uniform which makes you a target. Went threw NY PORT AUTHORITY AT NIGHT. Dangerous but had no choice when I was a poor flight engineer in late 80's

I read you just fine. You're right that I've never been on the NYC subway. Although I'm under the impression that thousands of people ride it daily without getting dead. I bet there's even Marine Corps veterans who ride it daily who manage not to kill anyone, even the "sick perps" high on drugs. I feel for you that it scared you so much.
Even after 20 years I can recall my Marine Corps hand-to-hand combat training. I know the easiest way to break a wrist. I know to gouge out someones eyes to get out of a headlock and I was trained that when I have someone prone on the ground that I should drive the heel of my combat boot into their head to finish them off. I spent months shouting "KILL!" as a way to show enthusiasm.

Thanks for your service too, however you just confirmed the USMC mindset that as a USN CSAR swimmer in combat I dealt with. Love you Marines but smarts is not a critical factor in recruitment as indicated by that post. 100% disabled here from combat when did you serve? I buy the first beer! LOL
Ah yes, you know all and see all. My brother has lived in Forest Hills for more than 30 years. I know the area. I know the subway you know. I've ridden it many times and have seen the good, the bad, and the ugly. I never served in combat, so you have that on me. But the NY subway is not a combat zone and the laws of the state of NY govern it. And I know a whole helluva lot more about the criminal justice system than you will ever know, having practiced for more than 30 years in it. The charges were legitimate. The evidence was there. And the jury did its job but did not convict. I don't have a problem with the acquittal. Does that make Penny's actions right? Absolutely not.
