    1. From his website:

"This isn't the liberalism our founders visioned for America.  They wanted limited government, strong State's rights, and for individuals to pursue their dreams of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."

I guess American history is a bit like the Bible in that people seem to find pretty much what they want in it.  The founders had strong differences of opinion about limited government, state's rights and pursuing the dreams over time has evolved into quite a bit of government help for some quite fortunate, wealthy individuals and corporations.  I would like to see an actually conservative gop candidate, but this guy doesn't come off that way.  He doesn't appear to be fond of the tea partiers but that isn't a reason to think he would be subtantively different.

The tea party and "libertarians" are dragging down the ability of the gop to launch better candidates and of those who do run won't win a primary or last very long if they should happen to win over a dem.  Perhaps the death of the current "conservatism" will lead to a renewal of real conservatives who understand the world they live in.

    2. The Big Line doesn't list Brophy either. That's because it only has room for the four candidates most likely to win. McMillan doesn't qualify.
