Colorado Pols in the News

From Sunday’s Colorado Springs Gazette in a story about how Democrats are looking like the Party to beat in 2006:

In the General Assembly, Democratic leaders are coming off a special session where they wrote and passed one of the toughest anti-illegal immigration measures in the country. It’s a move that gives their candidates a lot of momentum in their quest to keep or maintain majorities in the House and Senate.

A political Internet site — Coloradopols.com — has put the Democrats’ odds of keeping the House at 3-1 and gives them a 4-1 shot at keeping the Senate. [our emphasis]

“In all seriousness, I think we’ve got the best chance in my lifetime of taking the House, Senate and the governorship,” said House Speaker Andrew Romanoff, D-Denver.

We actually had the odds at 4-1 vs. 6-1 in the Senate and 3-1 vs. 7-1 in the House – both in favor of Democrats – at the time the article was printed.
