Who are these people and why should people in CD-5 care? I went through the website and get the general idea of what they are trying to accomplish, but I am wondering what impact this may have if at all. I think an endorsement from Hefley would have had more impact, but I’m glad to see some grassroots for Fawcett.
Well, I’m guessing they are republicans, and people who support Jay Fawcett. 😉 Seriously, Scott Hente is the city councilman representing the west side of Colorado Springs (including me). Mary Ellen McNally was involved in the D11 recall effort. Aside from that, I don’t recognize any of the names. I notice a lot of them are military, and possibly know Fawcett because they have worked or around with him.
I can appreciate that this group tried to cut a wide swath through various groups of people (military, political, business, office managers), but 100 of these people would not have the same effect as Joel Hefley saying that he was voting for Fawcett. This isnt meant to be a dig at you or the OP, and grassroots can be effective in generating support that will be overlooked until after an election, but heavy hitters will draw a lot more attention than 50 or so no names.
