    1. Umm… Like, who are you talking about?

Anti-democracy is more like it. I’m thinking Venezuela is more like the Republican Party, and the Heritage Foundation, right?

“The Republican Party is a failed state, and Donald Trump is its warlord.”

      1. I was talking about the land known as the workers' paradise ….. Venezuela.

Don't know if either the Republican Party or the Heritage Foundation ever expropriated private private property like the Chavez-Maduro regime did but if so, you may be right.

Park Hill, you don’t find it to be the least bit ironic that masses of people are voting with tier feet by traveling through the Darrien Gap to leave a nation where all are equal to seek work in a country like the US of A with its exploitative class structure and no universal health care?

        How is that possible?

    2. Typically if the United States has "serious concerns" about an election process, I take that with grain of salt. I don't know much about Venezuala. Though I do know that recognizing an unelected "interim president" as we did with Juan Guaidó raises some "serious concerns" for me.

  1. Even Bernie Sanders has reservations …..

Unlike Bernie, my concern is less her ability to connect with the Bernie Bros and more a concern for a potential Willie Horton lurking umder the resumé of the head of the second largest justice department in the country.

Except Willie Horton won't be called Willlie Horton. It will be José Sanchez and José will be an undocumented immigrant. In that way the Trump campaign has a three-fer:  an appeal to racists, an appeal to xenophobes, and an appeal to folks who are not necessarily racist or xenophobic but just fear and dislike violent criminals being turned loose.

I still think she is an improvement over Biden. She keeps some traditionally blue states blue (i.e., Minnesota, NH, Virginia) and she has a decent chance at carrying some of the swing states needed to win (e.g., PA or AZ, especially if she has Shapiro or Kelly as a running mate).
