If Sen. Wayne Allard runs for re-election – and nobody really expects that he will – it will be all about the fish. As The Denver Post reports, Allard still isn’t saying if he’s going to give it another go:
U.S. Sen. Wayne Allard won’t yet answer the biggest question in Colorado politics: whether he ll seek a third term in 2008. But he offers an interesting hint of how he d campaign.
Asked what he has accomplished in a decade in the Senate, Allard doesn t talk first about how he led the attempt to ban same-sex marriage, or how he pushed for billions of dollars for research into a missile-defense system, or how he pressed to improve the U.S. Air Force Academy s handling of sex-assault accusations.
He wants people to know he protected endangered fish.
“When I first got into politics, I never knew that I would be in a position to get that much accomplished as far as improving the environment,” he said.

Judging from all the posts sailing back and forth on this thread about Allard boy can I tell this man is quite a lightning rod.
he wasn’t afraid to go deep when he needed to.
the javon walker of veterinarians !
the article was badly written, but the staffer scuttlebut on Wayne is pretty much right on. very much like Gordon Smith (OR), who also does a little as he possibly can except for jumping on to other people’s bills. nice guy, very nice to the other staffers even on the other side, but pretty empty.
