You decide:
1. A Western Colorado man is suing Sen. Wayne Allard for (cue Dr. Evil voice) $1 trillion dollars.
2. Clyde Harkins, who ran for governor in 2006 under the Constitutional Party banner, says that many elected officials in Colorado shouldn’t be allowed to take office because they are registered to vote…or something like that.

Neither – they’re both nuttier than a Macadamia farm.
If I had to choose, I’d say Mr. Harkins takes the lead by a nose.
But Mr. Harkins gets my vote for his very elaborate fantasy. The other guy is just a crank (anyone who makes a point of identifying himself as a “taxpayer” in court documents is a crank – he might as well make a point of calling himself “human”).
The Allard suit is a REALLY cheap way to get pub. Let’s face it – he filed in state court (pretty cheap) and probably did it in a friendly court. So, rather than a Fed court bouncing it thirty seconds after receiving it, this court accepts it for the docket and then refers it to federal court. Gauranteed to get some press. Sneaky smart.
It WILL get tossed, then Mr. Burke has to pick up Allard’s costs. Much dumber IMHO.
These taxpayer lawsuits have always been tossed out on constitutional grounds. The Potted Plant enjoys absolute immunity for his votes on the Senate floor and in committee. (He also has legislative privilege protecting him for anything he says on the Senate floor, but since he doesn’t speak, that isn’t an issue.)
The case will be dismissed and the plaintiff will have to pay P.P.’s court costs (which will be negligible) and quite possibly Allard’s attorney’s fees (which will be anything but negligible).
Harkin probably needs to be on medication…..
That’s the number of Coloradans who actually voted for Clyde Harkins for governor in 2006! A pretty good-sized little community of fruitcakes.
This unfortunate act by Harkins could seriously harm his gubernatorial prospects in 2010… LOL
