The key is not how much he raised for his own Committee. The Cheney event raised a lot of money for the Republican Congressional Committee and the RNC. Those funds will make their way back to O’Donnell.
This makes Paccione’s #s look even better, comparatively.

Lamm filed late to avoid embarassment. According to the FEC report she raised $62,000 in the quarter. The Emily’s List “yeast” ain”t got no dough to work with –which is pretty pathetic> It’s time for Emily to send her yeast to a candidate who can raise money and support –Angie Paccione!

Lamm’s report just confirms that her campaign is done. She not only raised an enemic $63k, but her fundraising firm recently cut her loose too. If she’s getting fired by professional fundraisers, her campaign is beyond repair…

Looking at her FEC report, it is interesting how much money comes from the 2nd. I wonder if it is hurting Udall’s fundraising.
Peggy was spending hard too. She spent nearly as much raising the cash as she received.
If you look at the change in cash on hand for the quarter she saved 17k more than she spent.
Ed Perlmutter saved 142k more than he spent.
With these numbers, she is never going to touch O’Donnell, she should join me and the rest of my neighbors here in the seventh in supporting Ed to get the job done.
Fight On, Perlmutter shills! Surely you can drive out the competition without resorting to, ugghh, actual ideas!

I guess you havent been to Perlmutter2006.com lately. Ed has been posting his ideas on the issues. It would be nice if Peggy could find the time to even use the word ‘Democrat’ on her’s.
To both Ed and Peggy’s credit, there have been quite a few events now where both have expressed their ideas. Feel free to call me a shill or whatever other names you want to, but I think it would be an unfair criticism to accuse any of the Democratic candidates in my district of being without thoughtful positions and earnest visions for the future.
Just curious, are you from my district, or are you someone from out of town? I have been trying to find a Lamm supporter who actually lives near me.
Peggy will be in this race for the long haul. Not because she is a political machine, but because her outspoken style and record of reform will bring REAL change to Congress.
Since the Perlmutter staff started their smear campaign against Peggy Lamm on this and other blogs, there has been a noticeable decline in readership.
I wonder why that is?
No matter how many posts a single staffer launches on this or any other blog, it doesn?t hide the simple fact that Ed cannot beat Rick O?Donnell. First off, here are some poll numbers that were taken among general election voters in the 7th Congressional District:

For all the “connection to the district” Perlmutter has, 42% of people have never heard of him while 77% of voters know Peggy Lamm. Before you start saying that Peggy is cruising on the Lamm name, consider two factors: 1. so what, that?s what they?re going to think going into the precinct polling places and that is who they are going to vote for, 2. She had prime-time notoriety during the investigation into the CU Recruiting scandal and that is also bumping up her name ID.
The Perlmutter machine-style campaigning is out of touch with the attitude of voters today. This is a campaign that sent two attack mailings to Peggy?s list of donors? more than a YEAR before the election. Clearly they are very worried about her. He has also started a number of false whisper campaigns against Peggy. Meanwhile, he enjoys the support of developer interests and the oil and gas industry.
It?s time everyone read about the real Ed Perlmutter. Not the locker room, insider “I have a bigger bank account” attacks, and empty “I support the caucuses” hits that nobody cares about. But real questions about his record on the issues.
He was the author, not just a supporter or a co-sponsor, the AUTHOR of SB 141, the “oil and gas dream bill” and today Exxon is scoring more than $30 BILLION dollars in profits. Now, during the campaign, Ed sends out press releases as if he?s been the champion of Renewable Energy technology all along.
So Ed: as a long-time member of the Colorado Oil and Gas Association, you couldn?t muster your influence to get them to endorse renewable energy programs then, why didn?t you begin “change” there?
Ed’s website says:
“I led the fight for safe, clean renewable energy at the statehouse and will promote Colorado’s proven success and expertise nationally.”
No Eddie, you didn’t lead the fight for renewable energy at the Statehouse. Sen. Terry Phillips and Rep. Lola Spradley led the fight for a renewable energy portoflio standard.
Perlmutter has adopted the mantra of change to compensate for his greatest weakness: he is a machine-style, status-quo, politician running in a cycle where the voters are looking for fresh voices. He will say and do anything to get elected. That means another loss in the 7th Congressional District for the Democrats.
We need a compass, not a weathervane in the 7th. Go Peggy. Beat Ed.
First the money- O’Donnell has money. Ed is doing pretty well compared to O’Donnell. Peggy is looking pretty sad when compared to the same number. So just from that standpoint, who really has a better chance?
Sure, Peggy has name recognition. I’m sure lots of voters just remember “Lamm…oh yeah, I’ve seen that name.” I don’t recall a Governor Perlmutter so Ed doesn’t have that working for him. Big deal. There’s a long time between now and the general election to work on that, and Perlmutter is a name that will stick in your head. Notice how many people know who O’Donnell is? In a race between Ed and Rick, who wins name recognition and pre-primary favorable ratings?
Then the politics. Are you really blaming a state bill for Exxon’s profits? I don’t know that I’ve heard anything stranger recently. Nevermind the tax cuts coming from Washington, the oil-man President, the unprecedented oil costs and price gouging…it MUST be the result of something passed in Colorado. I didn’t live here when SB 141 went through, so I admit I don’t know the specifics, but the IDEA that one bill in Colorado years ago led to the profits we’re seeing is just ridiculous.
Ed has ideas. Talk to him sometime. Then talk to Peggy (or Herb) and see who impresses you as somebody who will work for results and a positive direction for this state and country. Disagree if you want about who is the better candidate, but do not accuse Ed of being anything less than a dedicated Democrat working for meaningful change.

In 2004, voters in CD7 voted against the consumate oil and gas man: President Bush. If voters know (or even suspect) Ed’s REAL stance on the energy industry, they won’t vote for Perlmutter either.

However, a compass is only useful if you know where you want to go before starting out.
