Excluding his $30K Col. legislator's salary, Lamborn's '05 earned income was $0. '06 was $2.5K.

For want of space limitations, I could not include in the header that the earned income for 2006 was reported only for the 1st half of the year.  But, no reason to think it was any better for the last half of 2006.

And, in point of fact, the reasonable interpretation is that his earned income from the 1st half of 2006 was actually only $1,000 from his law practice.  He considers a $1,500 expense reimbursement from a legislative council as “earned income”.

To this day, and this is a matter of personal opinion only, but, to this day, I believe that the reason Doug Lamborn was willing to stoop to the levels he did in his Congressional campaign, and the reason that he did not denounce the lies from the Club for Growth and the Christian Coalition of Colorado, is that he was desperate–truly desperate–for a paycheck.  Until I found this last evening documentation under his own signature that he made ZERO dollars as salary from his law practive in 2005, and only $1,000 for the first half of 2006, I had no idea how poorly his law practice performed.  The Colorado legislature is in session, what?–5 months out of the year?  And in the 7 months left, Doug Lamborn has ZERO earned income in 2005 and only $1,000 in the first half of 2006 as salary from his law practice?  This man was desperate, in my opinion, for a salary from Congress.  He obviously had no meaningful income from his law practice–and this is not a surprise, as a matter of my personal opinion.  One need only witness his presentation skills to decide that if one need’s an attorney, there are better ones to be had.  Why the 5th CD settled for Lamborn as its primary and general election winner is a mystery to me–but Lamborn’s sleazy campaign is not.  How desperate Doug Lamborn will be to hold on to his Congressional salary in 2008, if measured by what he was willing to allow be done in his campaign in 2006 to best his $30K Colorado legislator’s salary is scary for me to contemplate.  Let’s hope the 5th CD wakes up by then.

  1. Are you paid to diss on Lamborn and Club For Growth, or is this a freebie pet peeve of yours?  I hope you are getting something for all the time and effort you put into this.

    1. Or maybe DemoGirl wants to get ineffective Colorado representation out of the way. Personally, I would rant on an ineffective legislator regardless of party affiliation.

      2. And, to answer Lauren, sorry, but I’ve been away on vacation.  I’d love to get paid ranting about Lamborn.  If he’s a one termer, that’s payment enough, however.

So this is the guy who stoops to the worse kind of politicking to “win” a primary (25% of the vote?), loses his temper in an incredibly easy debate with his liberal challenger in the General, doesn’t even land a seat on the House Armed Services Committee, and then somehow manages to miss his first vote as a U.S. Congressman and we’re surprised to learn that his law practice was virtually defunct? Ummmm, not really a surprise to anyone in the 5th District DemoGirl… not really a surprise at all. 

    1. and I get paid for my work, not here, but in my real career.  Now if I got paid to blog, my research and presentation would be more precise and detailed, (like DemoGirl)instead of conversational and loose.  Which is why I am curious.

      1. DemoGirl is a jilted lover of Lamborn’s. In her previously Republican life, she was known as RepublicGirl. She lived in CD5, volunteered her time for the man and offered him solace on occassion (solace since he is misunderstood and honorable and all that).

        When Lamborn started to rise in power and influence, he threw RepublicGirl aside, breaking her heart.  Then DemoGirl emerged from the ashes of the flamed out passion. Ever since then DemoGirl has sworn to show the world the true face of Doug Lamborn, not the cute and cuddly one every one knows and loves, but the Janus face of the bizarro Lamborn, the one she knows all too well.

        I could be wrong on this….

        1. Such dogged obsession with turning over every stone and exposing Lamborn’s seedy underbelly can only be the result of two things, monetary compensation or jilted love.

          Of course, this can’t be good news for TancredoWatch…..

          1. proposed by a blogger (me) was that DemoGirl was in fact, Dick Wadhams, posing as an uber liberal to throw everyone off so he could plant fake stories that no one in here, save a handful of desperate Republicans, would believe unless it came from a reliable “insider” type source.  Diabolical you say?  Yes, but desperate times call for desperate measures, and we all know how sneaky he is.

        1. Maybe I’m projecting, or maybe I’m right.  Or maybe YOU’RE DemoGirl, masquerading as Zappatero, trying to turn this back on me so I’ll quit asking the question about your profligate lifestyle with Lamborn.  Nice try ZappoGirl:)
