Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CD 6) claims another win over Sen. Ken Salazar (D-Mexico) as the Senate defeats cloture 53 nays to 46 yeahs. The bill’s advocates fell far short of the 60 yeahs it needed.
Sen. Wayne Allard voted against cloture, showing he is pro consumer, not pro employer. He’s been relatively quietly against illegal immigration.
Tancredo began the campaign for border security years ago in the face of great derision from the Colorado media, which don’t believe in the rule of law or American sovereignity.
Salazar was one of the secretive architects of S. 1348, which morphed into S 1639. Both versions of the bill are poorly written, full of loopholes, unworkable and unenforceable.
That our Senator from Mexico would back such a dishonest bill and make claims for it that cannot stand up destroys his credibility as a political leader.
Simply put, he will say anything and he will back poorly crafted bills to win.
Even more disturbing is that he put the interests of illegals ahead of the welfare of Americans. He is more interested in helping Mexico send its poor to America than in ensuring good wages, educations and health care for Americans.
The bills supported by Salazar were anti-Colorado and anti-American.
Congrats to Tancredo.
Salazar has some explaining to do. His comments on the Senate floor this morning were all about procedural issues, not about the issue itself, which Salazar needs to address.
