  1. Still wondering why Angie Paccione did not receive support from the Emily’s List group.
Angie was confident that they would support her.
One blogger says that they are supporting her.
    What is going on?
Angie is great and I cannot imagine why the Democratic Party on all levels has not lined up behind her?

  2. Actually Dems are lined up behind Angie. The same is true for Angie as it is with any other candidate. They have to prove themselves as viable candidates to EMILY’s list before they will endorse her. The timing of their last round of endorsements was pretty close to entry into the race so she doid not have the proving time needed. And since there is not any sign of her having a primary, there is not an immediate need to get EMILY’s nod. I’ll be interested to see how she does in the next round of EMILY endorsements.

  3. EMILY’s list as with other political support organizations does not throw away money or support.  A candidate’s viability (read: ability to raise money) is everything.  To date (at least as reported) Angie has been unable to do that.  $38K in Q3 was not going to convince anybody that she could win.  As I stated earlier this week, if she has a strong money Q4 that can turn things around with EMILY’s list (I think she has to raise at least $150K in Q4 and have substantial money on hand) to be taken seriously at this time.

While Dan says that Dems are lining up behind her, that is not completely true.  There are serious efforts (and polling being done) with regard to finding a more viable candidate.  One has been identified (who polls extremely well against MM) but I am not certain whether this person gets in the race.  And no, it is not Matsunaka or Bob Bacon.

Oh, and it isn’t Hickenlooper either.

  7. Angie Paccione was confident that Emily’s List would support her.
Angie is a leader in the Legislature, a proven winner and was selected by her fellow Democrats to run their caucus.
I see one of Angie’s supporters wrote that Emily’s List was backing her. But, I see nothing on the Emily’s List website.
    What is going on?
Is Emily backing Angie? If not why not? Is it because Emily’s List is a club only for white women candidates?

  8. Au Contraire. Emily?s List is nothing but a bunch of Bigots.

Could you imagine if there was a Joe’s List that only supported men’s causes? What would happen to that gang?

      Let?s call a spade a spade.

  9. If he’s smart – he’ll poll on issues instead of name ID. And I’ll wager a prediction: if he finds out that, say, Property Rights are a hot button issues, he’ll start making that his new platform… you can always count on Both Ways to be sticking his finger up in the air.

  10. “Joe’s List” seems to be the national GOP lately; only two lady GOP Senate challengers so far, and the national party seems to be going out of their way to dissuade them both from running (Harris in Florida, challenging Nelson, and Pirro in New York, challenging Clinton – both are unlikely pickups…)

I wouldn’t exactly call EMILY’s List a “bigoted” organization; after all, how many women are there in Congress right now?  Hint: there are more women than men in the United States, but that doesn’t mean that women have equal rights in this country.
