And I really like Scott Bates. He ran a good campaign for state rep, but he just didn’t have the support that Miklosi and Rosenthal had.
Thanks to you Dan, and to everyone else who holds these offices. They’re not very glamorous, but they’re important to what we do in Denver.
By the way, it wouldn’t be Denver Pols without you, so I’m glad you are a front pager as well.
My job, which is now up on the air as well :(, prevents me from having day-to-day involvement with the party, but I can still hold positions which have limited responsibility.
Therefore I will be seeking the Chairmanship of HD2 as well as CD1. These positions have the important roles of running the assembly for their district and any potential vacancy committee meetings.
CD1’s CU Regent position is up in 2010. I have not heard yet if Michael Carrigan will seek re-election.
In HD2, Mark Ferrandino is poised to be there for the forseeable future, but this district has a history of sudden departures, so it is good to be ready in the event it happens.
The combination of these two positions also gives me spots on the County and State Central Committees so I can still have my finger in the pie, so to speak.
You should stay active in the party. With the apparent departure of Oh-Willeke, I would have been sad if you were going too.
If I was in HD2 I would vote for you, but I’m up in HD8. I wonder how much I want to put myself in for. I am about to step down as Director of a local literary society and I’m enjoying the idea of being an indian rather than a chief.
If you were intereted in that position, we could see if thre is an open slot in your precinct.
Among other things, it would give you a vote at the Re-Org in Feb if you got appaoint more that 21 days prior.
Rick Van Wie has informed the party officers that he has not decided to pursue the Secretary’s position with the Denver Dems. He cited his concern that the job required too much of his time to adequately be a husband, father, and bread-winner for the family.
