Office Pool: We Have a Winner

  • by: Colorado Pols

We have a winner in the first, and potentially annual, Colorado Pols Office Pool. Actually…we have two!

We asked readers to make two predictions on Referendum C: 1) pass or fail, and 2) with how many total votes (not the margin of victory). We’re playing by “Price is Right” rules, which means the closest guess without going over the total.

With 99.9% of precincts reporting, according to The Denver Post, Referendum C passed with 578,959 total votes. That means the winner of the Colorado Pols Office Pool is…

“Larimer D,” who predicted C would pass with 572,635 votes.

“EMRosa” was second, guessing that C would pass with 570,070 votes.

“Larimer D” wins the grand prize, a free banner ad on ColoradoPols.com for one week. To claim your prize, “Larimer D,” e-mail us at webmaster@coloradopols.com from the same computer that you submitted your guess, so that we can be sure that you are the same person.

We are also awarding a second-place prize to “itwillpass” for being the first, and only, contestant to make the “Price is Right” joke in guessing “pass 1 dollar!” The prize for “itwillpass” is a free small button ad for one week on ColoradoPols.com. To claim your prize, “itwillpass,” email us at webmaster@coloradopols.com from the same computer that you submitted your guess, so that we can be sure that you are the same person.

Thanks to the roughly 80 entries we received, and congratulations to “Larimer D”!!!

  1. Congratulations Larimer D and EM Rosa! And, thanks to all CO voters who staved off the starve the government selfish proponents who don’t understand “it takes a village”. Now, let’s hold our elected representatives feet to the fire usining these funds wisely and in full daylite display.

  2. I couldn’t wait until the Thursday Open Thread to share this thought:

The irony of the ballot shortage in El Paso County is that the geniuses there could have avoided the whole problem if they’d gone to electronic balloting and Vote Centers for this election.  But it was too expensive.

Now we have an even more expensive problem at hand – John Caldera and his pending lawsuit(s).
