CD-5 Fund-Raising Totals

  • by: Haners

All I have are Crank’s numbers so far.  Newsman and GOPstudent- once Lamborn’s and Rayburn’s numbers come out, let me know and I’ll get this updated.

There is a poll after the fold, but please only vote for a candidate if you are in the 5th Congressional District, and plan on voting in the Republican Primary.

Jeff Crank:  $102,073.64 raised, $105,382.39 cash on hand.

Congressman Doug Lamborn: raised  $116,491.00 , $237,132.46 cash on hand.

Bentley Rayburn:  $61,744.47 raised, $62,039.42 cash on hand.

  1. Wait a second — you mean that Bidlack actually did BETTER than Crank for 2Q???  Wow.  Bidlack raised something like 106k.  That either speaks well for Bidlack’s abilities or poorly for Crank.

    Or a little of both.

        1. A candidate’s first quarter should be pretty good, it’s a question of whether they can sustain it.  One quarter really isn’t too much to get excited about

      1. I tried the whole retrieval search thing, but all the numbers for all the candidates were from last period. I wasn’t sure if it took a while for the numbers to matriculate or whatever.

        Thanks for the tips though.

  2.    Because you’ve waited so long and the absentee ballots are out, it’s time for O.Q.D. to weigh in on who should be the Republican nominee in C.D. 5 this year.

The criteria is simple:  who out of these three rabid wing nuts would do the most to advance the radical homosexual agenda in Congress.

The choice is equally simple.  Jeff Crank and Bentley Rayburn are just as rabidly homophobic as Doug Lamborn.

However, because Crank or Rayburn would be able to work with other conservatives and moderates to block progress on civil right, either of these two would do much more harm to the GLBT community than Lamborn ever will.

I urge all my brothers and sisters in the Log Cabin Republican Club who live in C.D. 5 to vote for Doug Lamborn in the GOP primary.  (And then vote for Hal Bidlack in November!)

    1. My ballot is sitting on the kitchen counter right now.  Congratulations Doug Bruce and Doug Lamborn, the two of you get my vote!

And you better believe I’ll vote for anyone but them when November rolls around.  Preach it brother!

  3. I mean that honestly.  I am not trying to be funny or piss people off, but for the life of me the man is just not informed and has never had an orginal thought (except changing the name of Mt. Democrat and Mt. Republican, I guess that was orginal).  In all seriousness, why would anyone vote for him?

    1.    I can’t imagine anyone but Doug Lamborn coming up with that brain fart of a idea!

I wouldn’t be surprised if his first bill next session, assuming he’s re-elected, is legislation changing the name of our species to the hetero sapiens.

      1. I like open-minded intelligent political discussion with my beer. From everything posted here it sounds like all 3 of them are incredibly close-minded.

However, it is possible that all 3 are actually open-minded people who look for the best solution and just have to appear as close-mineded simpletons to win their primary.

        1. Some of the resident dems on the site are wondering why we would ever vote for a Republican.

I gotta be honest, the very fact that you all don’t support Lamborn is all the encouragement I need to vote for him. If the left liked him, then I probably wouldn’t.

          1. He’s a lot smarter than people realize, hiding his wit behind a charming propensity to stumble over his words and seek “Scriptural” resolution to constituent problems. But don’t let the adorable geekiness fool you — he’s open-minded and sharp as a whip. When he says things like “I don’t know what an earmark is,” he’s just trying to throw the liberal press off the scent — this man has an acute understanding of Congressional budgeting, monetary policy and geopolitics. It’s a delight to have a (near) beer with Doug Lamborn.
