Still trying to get some attention while Obama tours the world, McCain lands in Denver and Aspen tomorrow, Politico reports:

John McCain will step off the campaign trail tomorrow to sit down with the Dalai Lama.

McCain will meet with the Tibetan spirtual leader and international icon in Aspen, Colorado, according to a McCain aide.

The Dalai Lama is there as part of a three-day Aspen Institute conference billed as “A Celebration of Tibetan Culture.”

The Arizona senator was already scheduled to be in the state to speak to a military gathering in Denver.

      1. .

It’s from Hangul, the language spoken in Korea (N + S.)

        Americans are “Mee-gook.”

        Chinese are “Chun-gook.”

        Koreans are “Han-gook.”

By usage it became a slur for some persons in the armed forces,

sort of like “Hajji” in Iraq.

“Hajji” is actually an honorific in the Middle East.

Considering the hospitality he endured, I do not begrudge the man his bigotry.

        .

I am part Korean, and I end up using the term in conversation occasionally.
