HUGE SHAKE-UP IN CD-05 RACE !

  • by: Barron X

.

NewsMan said that there’s big news breaking this weekend in the race:

http://coloradopols.com/showCo…

He generally has inside info from the Lamborn camp.

The only thing that would shake the race up at this point would be for one candidate to drop out.

So, I’m guessing that Lamborn is dropping out ?

Newsie, don’t keep us hanging.

  1. It’s probably the Chaffee County Chamber of Commerce endorsement. Newsman has been prone to hyperbole on this topic before.

But, yeah, I wondered about that too. No one has any idea what it actually is?

  2. Here’s what I said”

My sources tell me, there may be an interesting development in the CD-5 race

An interesting development does not equal a HUGE SHAKE-UP.  What hyperbole.

You fringe party folks must be really bored.

The source was NOT any campaign.  I’ll let you know if it happens.  If the information doesn’t pan out, or is not reliable, I will say no more, at least until after August 12th. I don’t repeat unfounded rumors.

    1. Newsman, downplaying expectations for his “breaking” development…

The only development that’s not sourced to a campaign would be — the Gazette has planned to make an endorsement, reversing its policy? Is that it?

      1. And read the last sentence in my post above.

It’s just an interesting development if it’s true and if it happens.

…”These aren’t the droids your looking for, move along…”

        1. Newsman, why would post a teaser like that and then tell people not to speculate? it’s fair game. I bet it’s a Gazette endorsement. And I’m plenty relaxed, thanks.

          1. then speculate away.

But while your at it, you might want to think about what MY definition of “interesting development” is.

See, Rayburn dropping out, that’s not just interesting, that would be idiotic.  Why hang this long to quit in the home stretch, when he is actually gaining ground.

Jeff Crank admitting he has lied, exaggerated, and distorted his opponents statements and records and is sorry, well that’s not just interesting, that’s MAJOR. MAJOR Fantasy.

No an “interesting development” is just that.  Something that when you read about it, you say: “hmmm  that’s interesting.”

Not spray your morning coffee all over the newspaper and shout “Holy Bat cape”.

            1. Noting that Lamborn has avoided all debates, Rayburn campaign manager Mike Hesse said this incident exemplifies a bigger problem that Lamborn is unable to listen to people who may not agree with him or to defend his views.

A lot of these things continuously speak to a lack of courage,” Crank deputy campaign manager Amber Glus added. “If you can’t debate your opponents and you can’t think of anything to put on your Web site, how can you stand up to (House Speaker) Nancy Pelosi?”

              1. You’re right, it’s an interesting development

That neither interesting or a development.  That is typical partisan politics from his opponents campaign.

                It’s drivel.

      1. Jeff Crank Announces Second Amendment Coalition

        Friday, August 1, 2008 – jeffcrank

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – Jeff Crank, Republican candidate for Congress in Colorado’s Fifth Congressional District, today announced the membership of his Second Amendment coalition.

“The right we have as Americans to protect our property and our families will always be a priority of mine. As an NRA member and conceal-carry permit holder I believe in teaching the importance of firearm safety to our younger generations just as I do with my own family. I am pleased to have the support of other Second Amendment defenders in this campaign,” said Crank.

        1. We all get the daily Crank communique from the CRANK politburo of propaganda.

Did you know they are in re runs now.

They put some out twice to to make sure we didn’t miss that Terry endorsed Jeff Crank, and  the Colorado Springs Chamber that Jeff used to work for endorsed him.  Oh wait, that didn’t happen, they endorsed Doug Lamborn.  Erase erase erase.

Or that that the Colorado Springs Independent, (the newspaper of record for the Colorado Springs Gay and Lesbian Task Force) endorsed Jeff Crank for Congress, but just in the Republican primary, in the General election they will endorse Hal Bidlack, because they are uber liberal Democrats.

Why don’t you reprint that one here too.  We could all use a good laugh.

          1. Lamborns press releases are all new and dont have an ounce of propaganda.  Give me a break!  Jeff Crank is working so hard on important issues.  Lamborn just sits back in his fancy office that the taxpayers paid for and wont even debate.  Give me a break!

          2. because they are uber liberal Democrats.

            referred to

            the Colorado Springs Independent

I don’t think Ted Haggard works for the owners of the Independent newspaper.

    1. Link forthcoming when I’m not blackberrying (is that even a word? lol)

The Gazette took shots at all three. Hit Lamborn just as hard, maybe harder, than the other two.

    2. Link forthcoming when I’m not blackberrying (is that even a word? lol)

The Gazette took shots at all three. Hit Lamborn just as hard, maybe harder, than the other two.

  3. I’m going to go out on a limb here. Newsman read an “interesting” article and plans to quote it in its entirety. That’s the “development.”

  4. the “interesting development” is being worked on, but is not coming together.

If not announced by Wed., it isn’t going to happen. If not announced by the primary, I will reveal what it was on August 13th.

    1. .

      taking all that ribbing.

I imagine that if you find it interesting, all of us here will, too.

I sure would like to see some fireworks before Tuesday next.

      .

      1. On August 12th about 7:30pm when the absentee ballot totals are announced.

And again later at Rayburn HQ when Bentley Rayburn beats Jeff out of second place.

Lamborn will have no fireworks.  He will kiss his wife, thank the voters for the faith and trust they have again placed in him, thank his loyal supporters, and start working on legislation for the fall session.

The Democrats in the leadership are not only not going to allow a vote on drilling (because they know they would lose), and they are not going to let it expire on Sept 30th.  They are working on a giant omnibus appropriations bill scheduled for Sept 26th that will wrap all the spending they have failed to pass to date, plus the re authorization of the ban on domestic drilling, into one giant take it or leave it package, and then dare the Republicans to shut down the government in an election year.

        There WILL BE FIREWORKS !

        You heard it here first.

        NEWSMAN

        1. The government will shut down, and it’ll be a staring match between the president and Congress, and just like Clinton in 97 (was that the year?) the president will win the stare-off, namely because he has nothing to lose.
