I’m biased on this because I’ve got close friends that are some of Rollie’s bigger supporters and other friends who have worked with Cindy and because of that are Rollie supporters. I’ve talked with both Rollie and Cindy and don’t see Cindy winning new people over to her that have been on the fence. They both came to this race with similar base levels of supporters but I think Rollie has done a much better job making the case for himself amont the voters that weren’t already in one camp or the other.
But I have absolutely no solid sense of it. Every time I start to think one is winning, a series of friends and acquaintances tell me they’ve picked the other. I really don’t know, but I still go back to the Boulder assembly, in which she cleaned his clock.
Cindy wins big with the new voters while Rollie wins by a bit with the regular primary voters. The larger the turnout, the better for Cindy.
Turnout apparently is huge. The desire for change, for staying true to our core principles, for someone who will fight for what we need – all of that plays to Cindy.
Rollie and Josie have such a history with Democrats in Boulder, that I think undecided voters will side with Rollie. Cindy has made many enemies along the way. Her style can be very abrupt and off-putting.
Cindy has managed to get elected, to numerous positions. Rollie has never won an election.
