Thank you Cindy McCain

from ABC News

Democrats’ attacks on her family’s wealth are unfair and offensive, Cindy McCain said today in an interview airing tomorrow on “This Week with George Stephanopoulos.”

Seeing as how McCain’s campaign uses Paris Hilton’s inherited wealth as a pejorative, this turns that argument on it’s head. And the thing is, Cindy McCain comes across as a spoiled rich b***h and this reinforces that stereotype.

This helps increase the discussion on this subject – and it’s a discussion McCain loses.

Rich wives (Teresa Kerry, Cindy McCain) tend to hurt their husband’s chances. They spent too long surrounded by people who’s only response is “yes your majesty” to be able to relate to reporters in a manner that helps the campaign.

    1. I’m not sure she was wealthy before she married LBJ, but there were a lot of stories about her radio stations after LBJ became president.

      1. Nancy Reagan was Nancy Davis – an actress. She and Ronnie made their living doing movies and made good money. But it was definitely a marriage of economic equals.

LBJ was dirt poor while Lady Bird was upper middle class. And Lady Bird’s father donated the first 10K to LBJ’s House race and that made a big difference. But she wasn’t wealthy. The radio stations they purchased after they were married.

Roosevelt and Kennedy were themselves wealthy and so again, it was a marriage of economic equals. Washington did pull a McCain and as a dashing soldier and war hero, married up.

  1. Oops, I mean Lady McCain.

What’s unfair and offensive is John McCain’s economic policy agenda that benefits his wife’s tax bracket while screwing over more than 100 million middle class Americans.
