      1. anyone ought to appreciate so many minutes of attention on SNL. If he made other comments as well I haven’t seen them.  Link?

Last night I WAS a little surprised at how emotional he seemed about Prop 8 in California. It semed a tad out of proportion.  I mean he looked and sounded near tears. Heck, Rachel Maddow is in a committed lesbian relationship and SHE wasn’t anywhere that emotional.  Of course she’s much cooler headed in general. Kind of strange.

            1. Didn’t come across to me as being upset with the SNL skit.  More about snark.  But no question Olbermann gets a little insufferable at times.  Mostly I still enjoy him.

              1. He’s the boy who cries wolf – every single night. I don’t choose to watch him but he’s on at the gym I work out at – what a broken record.

They also have Fox News on sometimes (yes in Boulder) – it is soooo bad. CNN is ok and Rachael Maddow I like – she has a sense of perspective.

    1. Whoopsie. But just curious–does that really violate the law? I mean, I’m not seriously taking the guy literally but even if he was being literal…

      1. I hesitate to say that it is absolutely illegal (I haven’t spent any real time looking at the statutes or case law) but on a cursory glance at the laws I’d say it’s probably illegal.

I think he is being literal, way too much detail on the amounts/types of wager and the collection methods for it to be a joke.

  1. Up to 90,000 additional votes should be counted in Alaska by tomorrow.  Ted Stevens the convicted felon is up by about 3000 votes.

Locally is there any word on the Newell/Clapp recount? Any new numbers?

A lot of Democrats seem to think that Al Franken has at least a 50% chance of prevailing in Minnesota.

    1. While her lead has never been much over 100 the past few days she hasn’t slipped behind at all either.  It should be Newell. But it’s got to be by  more, don’t know exactly how much, to avoid the automatic recount which she should win too.  I’ve heard  quite a few Rs say that nobody really likes Clapp very much.

      1. is up 121 votes in Arapahoe County, down 25 in Jeffco, for a net win of 96. They still have two weeks to finish the provisionals, but historically they have favored Ds. It looks like a Newell win, because I’ve never seen a recount switch more than a handful of votes.
