Who would promise that he could raise $1 million in campaign contributions for the gov and has the credibility as a fund raiser to be believed by gov?
Would someone deeply interested in getting the Congressman into the senate make a such a promise without telling the candidate?
Just who would do such a thing and be believed?
Who just might be open to indictment for attempted bribery?
Three guesses.
Or was the gov just telling another lie to his chief of staff for some crazy reason?

The thought went through my mind before the news broke despite the Democrat establishment’s attempt via Bob Beckel to deflect attn. on CNN last night to some “businessman.”
And it appears there are potentially two or three people involved. One is the “emissary” Blagojevich mentions. The other is the Individual Blago told Fundraiser A to contact in order to pass on Blago’s not-demands.
(As an aside, who else here has had the spelling of ‘Blagojevich’ etched into their brain since the criminal complaint was filed?)
We can be pretty sure it wasn’t Obama or Emmanuel – they’re more tied up with Candidate #1, and they rejected Blago’s attempts… Several other people tied up with various candidates, or otherwise seriously on the “outs” with the Governor also take themselves out of the running.
Jesse Sr. has an on-again, off-again relationship with his son, so no sure bets there.
For that matter, JJ, Jr. isn’t apparently on good terms with Blago, either (not many people are/were…), so in the end it might be just Blago yapping and trying to drum up money by saying others were interested in doing something for him.
Including his wife and mistress.
If so, why?
If not, why not?
I don’t know the man well enough to say one way or the other.
Right now a lot depends on the availability of evidence on the “emissaries” and “Individuals” in the criminal complaint, and the identity and connection to JJ, Jr. of each. Right now I’ll leave it at this: Jesse Jr. is pretty far removed from these allegations at this time, but his reputation is nonetheless in danger because he is now linked to this case as Candidate #5.
I wasn’t going to, but I have the best FBI gossip. I’m not comfortable posting it, even though it’s not so sensitive that I can’t whisper it.
The parking lot’s going to be swarming with anonymous white vans on Sunday, and the bar stuffed with men in three-piece suits, sunglasses, and suspicious wires coming out of their ears.
I’ll be there…
Oh yeah, this is why we don’t need Amendment 54.
Quit beating a dead horse. It doesn’t even make the squishy noise any more.
That has absolutely nothing to do with Blagojevich. But that’s never stopped you from spamming every single thread with your single-minded “commentary”.
What corporate goon was offering cash down for the seat? I understand that candidate #6 was a Chicagoland CEO who directly offered cash.
