“Man’s capacity for justice makes democracy possible, but man’s inclination to injustice makes democracy necessary.”

Manafort indicted, surrenders to FBI, along with business partner Rick Gates.
The Wall St Journal comments, are revealing of the spin Trumpers are trying to get going: Tax fraud? Why not the IRS? This is a conspiracy to make the libs happy, but Bill, but Hillary, this isn’t really a big deal, $500 million is nothing, etc.
And let's not forget the uranium. That's the real story which is not being told. Or Benghazi. Or Paula Jones.
Whitewater! Stop the coverup!
Great quote this morning, Alva.
I just laid in a case of popcorn….this should be fun. It's gonna be like lifting off the floor of the corn crib…the rats will be scurrying in every direction.
Oh, to be a fly on the wall at the White House….
What needs to be done now is Eric Schneiderman, the NY State Attorney General, needs to open his own tax evasion case against Manafort. He needs to bring parallel state charges because all Mueller's work will go down the drain if and when Donnie starts issuing pardons.
Prez cannot pardon someone for a state offense. And I cannot imagine Andrew Cuomo wanting to shower any clemency on this guy.
Instead of going to the low security prison in Allenwood, PA (Club Fed), perhaps he could get a trip to Attica!
Mueller is coordinating with the NYS AG, so state charges are likely a mature investigation already.
Just calm down, everyone…Faux has spoken!
If what you're interested in is links to the campaign, this might be more important (for now) than Manafort/Gates.
Ex-Trump campaign adviser pleads guilty to making false statement
Oooh…this is soooo much fun….
This is intriguing, to say the least.
There’s a sealed “Indictment (A)” and it looks like it’s against Donald Trump
Bill Palmer
How they've handled it in the past…..
I'm old enough to remember how the Watergate grand jury – uncertain whether it could indict a sitting president – named Nixon as an unindicted co-conspirator.
By 1998, it was still uncertain whether a president could be charged with a crime so Ken Starr put everything he had into a report which was $29 million piece of soft-core porn, published it on line, and sent it over the Newt Gingrich for an impeachment vote.
Oooh, wonder if someone just got a target letter. It's not always the dominoes that you expect to that fall.
Tony Podesta stepping down from lobbying giant amid Mueller probe
Why is no one discussing the biggest issue of the day?
If you look at it in the right light, does the cheese rise to the top?
“When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” . . .

Daily quote trivia: Reinhold Niebuhr, who wrote today's quote, is the alternate Twitter ID of former FBI director James Comey. Comey also used this quote today. Maybe Pols knew that?
Working as intended. I mean, come on, it's only 12,600 gallons!

RE: Papadopoulos
SUBJ: Stop Me If You’ve Heard This One Before
“The adviser, George Papadopoulos, has pleaded guilty to lying to the F.B.I. about that conversation. The plea represents the most explicit evidence that the Trump campaign was aware that the Russian government was trying to help Mr. Trump and that the campaign was eager to accept that help.
As part of that effort, the Russian government hacked Democratic accounts and released a trove of embarrassing emails related to Mrs. Clinton’s campaign. The Trump campaign has repeatedly denied any inside knowledge about that.”
