Each year during the week between Christmas and New Year’s (and sometimes depending on our holiday schedules a few days after New Year’s), we here at Colorado Pols publish a recap series of blogs on the top ten stories of the year directly pertinent to Colorado politics.
We’re putting our collective pre-eggnog heads together on this subject over the next couple of days, and as always we want the input of our astute readers to ensure we don’t miss anything! Use this thread to give us your list of the top ten stories of the year, and tell us why they deserve the honor.

Make sure Lebsock gets a nice fuck-you.
Vicki Marble and the Boy Scout lecture.
Lori Saine trying to get through airport security with a loaded weapon.
Hickenlooper makes a fool of himself with a failed special session.
State Senate Republicans nuke special session because their goal of fucking Coloradoans will not be achieved.
Also, nutlid tries to shame sexual harassment victims.
In no particular order and off the top of my head on what should be included…
the Women's March, March for Science and Immigration protests at the start of the year and the rise of resistance politics in Colorado
the fall of Steve Lebsock
In a district and state won by Hillary Clinton, Rep. Coffman and Sen. Gardner still vote in lock step with Donald Trump on healthcare and taxes
Ed Perlmutter getting into the Governor's race, the cascade of candidates to replace him, then dropping out and deciding not to run for Congress again, then deciding to run again for Congress and the hopefuls for his seat retreating back to running for their old jobs
The Legislative middle finger the State Senate gave Hick when he called a special session to fix a typo that was costing special districts millions of dollars
I was particularly taken by Tom Tancredo's devotion to free speech … Tom Tancredo, upset about canceled white nationalist event, weighs another run for Colorado governor
I like Cary Kennedy as a candidate, but really… the announcement speech. Westword, on Kennedy's announcement
Almost any aspect of the George Brauchler political saga. https://www.denverpost.com/2017/11/08/george-brauchler-attorney-general-primary/
The year of resistance to the Trump agenda…with our own Atlantis Adapt protesters occupying Cory Gardner's office to protest proposed Medicaid cuts… while Gardner pretended to care and avoided talking with them.
Resistance in general,….people developed habits of marching and calling and suing and showing up like never before. That's got to be the #1 story.
