Moms Demand Shakes Up Senate Permitless Carry Hearing

UPDATE: Watch Colorado Senate business halted after the passage of permitless concealed-carry bill by the GOP majority:

—–

Today, a large contingent of citizen activists from the group Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America showed up at the Colorado Capitol to rally against the passage of Senate Bill 18-097–legislation sponsored by Sen. Tim Neville that eliminates any permit requirements to carry a concealed weapon in Colorado.

Following the narrow passage of that bill by the Senate, 9NEWS’ Brandon Rittiman reports that the Senate galleries erupted. We’ll post he video once it’s available, but by all accounts it was quite the ruckus:

Once again, we’re struck by the difference in the passion–more to the point, who is passionate and who isn’t–from 2013, when Colorado passed gun control measures over the wild-eyed objections of gun rights supporters and provoked recall elections, to today with supporters of gun control firmly on the right side of the so-called “intensity gap.”

It’s hard to imagine 2018 ending the way 2013 did.

    1. And your gun fuckers were disturbing the peace 5 years ago when those gun bills got passed.  They also made graphic threats against lawmakers and you cheered them on. What's your point nutlid?

  1. This is all theater. Why get upset about it. It will pass the state senate because the gun nuts hold 18 seats. It will die in the house state affairs committee on a party line vote.

For what it is worth, it's a bad bill but it ain't going nowhere fast.

    1. Well, to draw attention to the Republican majority in general and Tim Neville in particular.  Gives people a very public reason to give him the boot this fall

      1. And, also maybe, to express the depth of anger at the Republicans and their playing theater while children and other innocents are being regularly slaughtered!
