SEEKING LEAD ATTORNEY FOR DIFFICULT CLIENT (1600 Pennsylvania Ave NW)

    1650 Pennsylvania Avenue N.W

compensation: Client is a hugely wealthy man. Hugely successful. Everyone says it.
    employment type: contract

Seeking a lead attorney to represent client involved in an ongoing Federal investigation. Must be familiar with laws and procedures around discovery, executive privilege, international financing of licensed real estate, election law and the Logan Act. Working knowledge of social media, especially Twitter is a plus, as is a better than average knowledge of the adult film industry and a collection of Playboy magazines from 1985-2010. Must look the part – Gregory Peck or Tommy Lee Jones type. Prior appearances on Fox News a huge plus.
    No fatties.

Must be prepared to work with a client who is very forceful and opinionated about his defense and is his own best counsel.

Basically your job boils down to keeping him from testifying under oath and hoping the rest comes out in the wash.

    1. Pols, et al – Is anyone else seeing weird formatting on this page? Like the comments on the right where the posts usually are, and in a smaller font? I've tried erasing history and refreshing – still weird.

      1. I wonder if Joe Salazar will decide the issues are so important that he will fill his campaign literature with them, crowding out any pictures.

        1. Joe Salazar is polling +29 among likely Democratic voters. He is strong on issues we care about because he knows policy backwards and forwards, and has been fighting for them in the legislature for years.  Judge for yourself.

Here's a video of the AG candidates at a forum in Sterling recently:

North East Colorado Democrats Candidate Forums – Forum 3 – Colorado Attorney General Candidates from Craig Stevens on Vimeo.

I don’t have anything against Phil Weiser, and will vote for him if he is the nominee. He does come across as very earnest and intellectual; after all, he is a law professor. But people trust Joe to fight for their interests, because he has been doing that for years.

  2. Talking Points Memo is on a roll looking into Trump's co-conspirators in treason. It's highly worth paying for the premium version.

Gates made a deal with Mueller. Manafort and van der Zwaan on the other hand have refused to plead guilty, and now Mueller is throwing the book at them. These guys are neck-deep active agents for Russia, and will face lengthy prison sentences.

    So why haven't they talked?

For one, van der Zwaan has a rich oligarch father in law, so he is financially set if he can survive white-collar prison for a few years. Manafort doesn't have a soft landing, unless Trump pardons him for his crimes against the state, but still prison is better than dead.

To the last point: Putin tucked the proverbial horse's head under the sheets by assassinating some ex-Russians in Europe and the US. You've got a choice Vanny-boy or Manny-boy: prison or nerve gas against you and your family.

    Message sent and received.
