What you can do to fight back this week (July 30)

August will be a very important month for the resistance in Colorado.

Traditionally, the month of August is a time for political leaders to return home from Washington to get feedback from their constituents about their agenda. But since Trump became President, Colorado Republicans have become just plain fearful of the very people they represent.

Last year, Sen. Cory Gardner was hounded in the press for months before finally holding town hall meetings where thousands of angry residents demanded an explanation for what Republicans in Washington are doing. Rep. Mike Coffman took draconian measures to control the audience at his town hall meetings, checking the IDs of attendees and even fleeing out the back of one venue to avoid answering hard questions.

This August, we’re working overtime to hold Gardner and Coffman accountable. Watch your inbox for news alerts about events you’ll be able to participate in, sometimes on short notice. If you receive any notice about an upcoming public event, drop us a line so we can spread the word. With your help, neither Gardner nor Coffman will be able to show their faces in Colorado without progressive Coloradans on hand to let them know they’ve broken our faith and trust.

Thanks again. Here are more ways to take action for the week of July 30:

One Colorado: Transgender Rights Educational Training

Come learn from Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains and One Colorado about how we can be allies for our transgender siblings. We will discuss the biggest issues the transgender community faces and work to break down negative stigma. PPRM staff will also share about the services offered for transgender folks in our Denver Central health center. This is a safe space where all can feel comfortable to bring any and all questions.
