UPDATE: Aaaand…deleted!

At the top of Cathy Garcia, Sen. Cory Gardner’s Pueblo Regional Director’s Facebook page now:
Not much additional commentary needed here! When it comes to religious freedom, not all “People of the Book” need apply. The only real question is, will Sen. Cory Gardner, jet-setting member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, “like and share?”
He’s obliged to do something.

The GOP: Religious fReEdOm!
Also the GOP: This shit. Next it’s the Sikhs, Native Americans, then the Jews. Odd how its never the fundamentalist Christians…
That's because Jesus loves the Fundies and hates everyone else.
This is trying to spin a non-issue into something important on the part of the GOP. The number of women who wear burqas in America is so vanishingly small as to be nonexistent.
Any real security risks from masks comes from masks that fit in. When criminals commit a crime wearing a mask they wear Halloween mask, ski masks and the like. Is Ms. Garcia going to advocate the banning of ski masks? Of course not. She's a racist asshole coming up with "reasons" to justify her hate.
How is it racism, DENependent? If you can't see any faces, how do you know what race they are?
How do you know that the number of women wearing burqas in the USA is "vanishingly small?"
In France, which has a Muslim population of 7.2% in comparison with the USA's 0.9% of the population, the French Secret Service found only 372 women in the whole country who wore the burqa. Vanishingly small.
As for how I can tell she is a racist, look at the top of the post. "This is not exotic, this is not beautiful, this is not culture!" If one has eyes the implication is just as clear as someone posting about the "conspiracy of international bankers".
While the number of women wearing burqas in France is indeed small, that to some degree reflects racist French persecution , which is nothing to celebrate.
Nice dodge in answering my questions, DENependent.
"This is not exotic; this is not beautiful; this is not culture." How is that a "racist" statement? Answer is simple; may be a stupid statement, but it is not racist. Your statement: "if one has eyes, the implication is just as clear….." No, it isn't. This latter statement serves only to denigrate those who disagree with you; a typical far right wing stunt.
Your use of the term "racist" serves to de-sensitize use of the term. Your French study is informative, but this is the USA.
I'm not defending the lady, who apparently has since removed the post. If you intend to do battle with the occasional far right winger on this site, you'll need a better and more fact-based approach.
There are more men who go around wearing white sheets in this country than women in burquas.
The kool aid in Pueblo is getting toxic. Hasn't that wonderful city suffered enough?
It makes me sad to see this. I remember Cathy in her role at Action22 as a very kind and gentle person. I see it’s either been removed or no longer a public setting. Maybe she could encourage her boss to focus on challenges closer to home? Developing the human and natural resources in the region, from Pueblo to Lamar?
Agree.
Hilarious. She deleted it and the first thing you see now is a puppy.
As in: How can you be mad at this face?
I’m curious whether her boss has taken a public (op)position (or encouraged the Great Orange One) on the Saudis seeking the death penalty for five, female human rights activists? (I couldn’t find one; perhaps I’m not digging deep enough)
Whistle blown.
Mission accomplished.
I was curious, so looked up the Sig on the meme, "Stop all Invaders"…
It appears on a Josh Russell/Medium created Comprehensive list of Internet Research Agency Social Media “Groups”
Media Matters names the site in "Racist Russian propaganda is still going viral on conservative Facebook pages"
And, best of all, "Stop all Invaders" is included in testimony to the Senate Intelligence Committee from Renee DiResta, Director of Research, New Knowledge … https://www.intelligence.senate.gov/sites/default/files/documents/os-rdiresta-080118.pdf
Sweet Baby #ProsperityGeezuz. We have Senate staff re-posting Russian shit? We've jumped the shark.
tipo'the iceberg
The Senate testimony identified "Stop all Invaders" as a Russian bot-formed agency, pushing their memes to conservatives/anti-immigration fearful/anti-Muslim/and pro-white believers.
It's really fricking scary. I am in touch with some old friends, and some of them are spouting this crap back at me.
I want to stay friends and keep the lines of communication open, so I question gently, and make deals: I'll read your article if you'll read mine.
But these are sensible, professional, somewhat compassionate people who are completely propagandized.
