One thing is clear today: Republicans are still willing to defend Trump even for the most blatant of government abuses or the most obvious felony crimes. Trump's removal via impeachment may be beyond any hope in this Congress, no matter the offenses.
I think you're right, PR. I can't imagine anything that would produce 67 Senate votes to remove him. The fear of Trump's base is too powerful.
