Perlmutter Endorses Bennet

  • by: Raphael

Just received the following email from Congressman Perlmutter via the Bennet listserve:

“I have remained neutral in their primary until now, because I believe both men are gifted and talented public servants of whom Colorado can be proud. However, I have decided to endorse Michael Bennet in this primary. Over the past year, Michael’s diligence, determination and dedication to solving problems and moving Colorado and America forward have earned my trust, respect and full support.

Sincerely,

Ed Perlmutter”

For some reason I had thought Perlmutter had already endorsed Bennet, but I guess I was wrong.

At any rate, good news for the Bennet campaign to put out before the caucuses on Tuesday, particularly in light of the PPP poll that gives Romanoff some ability to claim an electabilty edge over Bennet. (Again, I personally disagree as to the strength of that argument per RedGreen’s comments in his diary on the matter, but it’s certainly an argument Romanoff can/should be making).

What say you polsters? Does this make any difference in the race?

(Also, sorry I don’t have a link as this was just an email, if anyone has one please post it in the comments).

Who had the better press today?

  1. as the only member of Colorado’s Democratic delegation still neutral in the primary, as RSB pointed out in the Open Thread today. All the others — Polis, Salazar, Markey, Udall and now Perlmutter — have endorsed Bennet.

  2. As RG pointed out to me the other day, if it’s not copyrighted material, you don’t have to post a link. Especially since this was sent to everyone on Bennet’s listserv, it’s easily verifiable as authentic.

If you’re ever worried about people questioning authenticity, you can always use a screen capture too.

    1. I just felt that a link would be appropriate since I’m quoting someone else and don’t want to be accused of putting words in anyone’s mouth.

Screen capture though, like that idea.

  3. because of my blogs.

I’ve been waiting two days for him to apologize. I’ve sent him emails to three different addresses. If he doesn’t call soon, it’s all out in the open. I have never been so pissed in my life.

    1. It’s a primary – primaries are apparently a good thing.

      It wasn’t personal.

      Be the better person.

      Rise above.

None of which helps – sorry that happened.

    2. I just got an apology from a high-profile someone whose apology was much needed. We still don’t agree about what happened exactly, but the call was necessary to move forward.

  4. I refuse to make them push me to go negative. I am just going to fight like Hell for Michael Bennet.

Andrew used to be a good man. This campaign has been politics-as-usual, and a disgrace to his legacy as Speaker. Michael Bennet has run a clean campaign. MICHAEL BENNET IS MORE THAN JUST A HEALTH CARE HERO. HE IS A ROLE MODEL to us all.

Thanks to all of the negative Neds and nasty Nannettes on Andrew’s campaign for showing me the difference so clearly. I support US Senator Michael Bennet today more than ever.
