A Toaster For Josh Penry?

  • by: Colorado Pols

Gold Dome scuttlebutt: Senate Minority Leader (and ex-gubernatorial candidate) Josh Penry has reportedly been telling people quite openly that he will be chief of staff under Scott McInnis, should the latter win the election this November. This is being represented without much pretense as Penry’s “consolation prize” for pulling out of the race suddenly last fall. If true, this could settle some questions about lingering tension between McInnis and Penry, as well as remove Penry from the list of possible Lt. Gov. choices (chief of staff for the governor is a better job anyway).

    1. they are people, and to abort them would be murder.

(If a “twinkle-in-one’s-eye” can be a person, surely an idea is a person too?)

    1. To candidate for governor, to campaign manager of a campaign that is now completely in shambles, to presumptive chief of staff to a guy who isn’t going to be governor.

Man, karma is a real bitch.

        1. I guess Mesa State is always a fallback for the guy who has spent his whole career on the government dole telling us how we need to shrink the government and look to the private sector for answers.  Call it the Phil Grahm plan.

  1. Just a few short months ago Penry was telling us there was no deal made with Scooty when he quit the race.  I believe most knew Penry was lying then.  But hasn’t lying become the leitmotif for the McInnis/Penry deception they have become so well known for?

I mean, it’s not like 34 years ago when I saw KISS in concert for the first time.  Who would have ever guessed then that they would be the opening act for Cheyenne Frontier Days in 2010?  But everyone should have known that Penry would not quit so quickly if there was not something in it for him.  It’s just who Penry is.

“Republicans have lost all credibility over the past 10 years,” -Josh Penry
