GOP CD7 Assembly Results

(Actual Data-  Thanks Dan – promoted by Danny the Red (hair))

Wow! I am really surprised how far I had to dig to find this. It was not in the paper, n ot was it on ColoPols before this. I finally googled it and found it on a Republican blog. (acknowledgement to David Johnson and “People’s Press Collective”)

The results:

Total ballots 365

Frazier 171   46.8%

Sias 154      42.2%

Sheely 29      7.9%

Deming 1        .3%

This puts Frazier and Sias on the primary ballot and eliminates Sheely & Deming from even trying to petition on (would have needed at least 10% to be able to petition).

  1. Both parties are ghaving their state assemblies tomorrow. GOP in Loveland and Dems in Broomfield.

Assuming I can get on-line at the assembly, I am going to try out my new highly portable netbook and live blog from the Dems. If you don’t see a thread from me, I wasn’t able to get on-line there.

    1. I checked the original post. Frazier 49% of 355 votes, not 365, Sias 43%. Don Johnson, not David.

Looks like Sias has momentum with the base, but as noted by others here, he will need a lot of money to get the name recognition for the primary.

Perlmutter should hold his seat, I think.

  2. From all the talk you do hear, Frazier would seem to have been a near-lock for this race.  Sias is right behind him, though.  I’m guessing that the national party won’t be looking at this as a prime pickup, so the dynamics change a bit…

Frazier has to keep a strong fundraising effort going and has to use it effectively to win in August.  Sias needs to activate the base he apparently has and get his name out to the general GOP voter; he’d also be helped by a few big drops from some independent expenditure supporters.

    1. I’ve heard him speak before; he can deliver the rhetoric. The GOP people in the audience started whispering about the new “conservative Obama.” The race with Perlmutter is obviously a hard one for the Republicans, but we haven’t heard the last of him after this race is said and done.

      1. I thought that was supposed to be Michael Steele.

Next they’ll be calling him their “Great Black Hope.”

        Talk about tone-deaf.

      2. I have never heard of Sias before this week, but he is clearly a better candidate than Frazier, with superior work experience, education, and grassroots support.  I would also venture to guess that Sias has a more nuanced workview from his time in the military.  The last thing we need is another so-called conservative who has drawn a gubment paycheck his entire career.

And pardon me if I do not believe the story about wispers in the crowd during Frazier’s speech…LOL.

        1. is to be making false claims about a candidate’s professional history. Look, I’m an avid Perlmutter supporter, and can think of very few policy areas where Frazier and I agree. But the comment about a “gubment paycheck his entire career” is pure bullshit. Frazier worked for both Raytheon and Avaya as a process improvement engineer, and is a partner in a software start-up. And while he does reveive a salary as a city councilman, he hasn’t received a paycheck for a full time government job since the time HE WAS IN THE UNITED STATES NAVY.

  3. Getting one vote at assembly is pretty painful…  Maybe he should have done some polling before throwing his hat in the ring..

    Denver Broncos… Still Suck!
