The clearing of the field continues.
Walsh had a fine record as U.S.. Attorney and deserves another chance at public service. But Hick is our Senate nominee against Trump's lap dog.

I'm not afraid of your man Romo or of the woman who, in the abstract, would be my first choice, Alice Madden. But your guy lost his last two races and, yes, I'm afraid he’d lose to the avalanche of corporate cash that Gardner would throw at him.
Alice also lost her last time out — the only statewide Democrat to do so. None of the other contenders is above 2 pct in the polls or has a prayer to make the ballot.
Convention is about 65 pct for Hick, 18 for Romo, the rest scattered among minor candidates. That puts Hick alone on the primary ballot. Romo won't petition on for a crushing defeat that would destroy what viability he has left.
In November, you'll grimace and vote blue. I'll shrug and do likewise.
No more Alitos. No more Gorsuches. No more far right judges. Hick will stop that and that's in the end the only thing I really care about.
We'll drink a cup of fracking fluid for old Lang Syne — and an iron grip on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

I will stick with whiskey. Unlike hydraulic fracturing fluid, it is only toxic in large quantities.
Hickenlooper wasn't talked into running for the senate by the waitress where I play. He wasn't convinced by the mechanic who changed the oil in my truck or the budtender who sold me a little weed.
No , V. Hickenlooper made the decision to run in order to champion some very powerful and wealthy opponents of "socialism". I would very much appreciate it if you and your posse here would lay off the inevitability ruse. Why don't you just admit you prefer his corporate appeasement to a fresh look at how things work.
My preoccupation with his treachery vis a vis O&G policy in Colorado is obvious, but I object to his policies and behavior in a number of areas.
I would much prefer Alice Madden to Hick. Andrew, of course, gets my vote, but I don't see Frackenlooper growing an integrity bone anytime soon. So you like his coddling of the Oily Boyz that's ok. But…inevitability??

AZ senate seat is an easier conversation.

I wouldn't count on Hick being great on judicial nominees. He made some pretty piss poor appointments to the bench in Colorado and seemed pretty detached from the process. I don't blame Walsh for leaving the race, but I am sad to see him go. He would have been an infinitely better senator than Hick.
I don't expect him to sit on the Judiciary Committee but his election makes Dianne Feinstein one step closer to holding the gavel of that committee and blocking Amy Comey Barrett from replacing Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

I don't want him on judiciary. But I do want him in the Senate, if he's the nominee.
I don't think he is interested in Judiciary.
My fear is he will request Energy and Natural Resources. (That committee is nasty enough with Joe Manchin as the ranking Dem.)
Even though I think Duke is little over the top with some of his ranting and name calling, I share his dislike for Hick's positions on the environment and fossil fuels.
