From the Rocky Mountain News:
Marc Holtzman’s attempt to win a spot on the Republican primary ballot goes to court today.
A hearing has been scheduled at 1:30 p.m. before Denver district court Judge R. Michael Mullins. The case will be heard in Courtroom 8 in the Denver City and County Building.
Holtzman is trying to overturn a finding by Colorado Secretary of State Gigi Dennis that he did not have enough signatures to win a place in the Aug. 8 primary.
He has asked the court to count several hundred signatures that were ruled invalid by Dennis.

Less than the required 30% at the caucus after a year campaigning and 2 mil spent. Now not enough signatures to get on the ballot.
I call that a mandate. Call to service!
It’s 2:30 pm: Is Holtzman still a candidate? I still fearlessly predict his case will be thrown out for failure to exhaust administrative remedies (i.e., failure to at least TRY to get Gigi to change her mind).
But if it’s not thrown out, it’s coming down to the hanging chads again. Remember that cross-eyed guy looking at the ballots in Florida? Is that what Judge Mullins is going to look like by the end of the day?
Or will he just give up and let Holtzman’s name be printed on the ballot, to give everyone more time to examine the signatures?
Sigh. The only sure prediction is that at the end of the day, some whiny sore-loser Republican will once again be griping about “activist judges.”
I think Holtzman’s only hope is the selection and timing of the judge.
Interesting that Wednesday’s article in the RMNews never mentioned who MH’s attorney’s are.
Why did MH not appeal the SoS decision?
3:11 PM …. tick, tick, tick….
SoS is required by law to certify today.
tick, tick, tick goes the clock….
Judge Mullins appears to be an appointee of former Governor Romer.
Will that influence his decision?
It’s now 4:21… tick, tick, tick… Colorado law requires the SoS to certify today….
What will be the decision of Judge Mullins? Will he tell MH to go back and appeal to SoS?
Will he order the signatures validated, and if so, which ones, and how many?
What time is it now….?
Hmmm… it seems that Judge Mullins has seen this sort of case before.. or apparently something like it, back when Natalie Meyers was SoS…

It’s the in Pueblo Chieftain, but you have to pay to get it from the archives…
Does anyone else think that “Seen this before…” is a VP of Online Sales for the Chieftain?
Judge has ruled that Mark Holtzman’s name will be on the ballot!
Wow.
Cool. Is it me or does this feel like a new ball game?
Oooo, is there a link?
So BB has 40% unfavorables and a Primary Opponent who has gotten 2 weeks worth of free press… He’s screwed.
Anybody? A link to the story that says Holtzman can be on the ballot? Trying to write up a post about this…
Colorado values, Colorado endorsements, Colorado family…Ah fuck it, I’m screwed.
No story yet, they are still in court.
Let’s get ready to rumble!
DENVER – A Denver District Court Judge Friday ordered the secretary of state to put GOP gubernatorial candidate Marc Holtzman’s name on the August primary ballot.
