Good thought this morning on the front page of the online version of Politico…..
How Harvard made Pete Buttigieg the moderate that progressives love to hate.
Who "hates" moderates? If we disagree with policies, and prefer progressive policies, does disagreement equal "hate"? Only in the minds of those who love to project their own emotions onto others. Maybe you hate a candidate or two – so own that, and speak for yourself. Whom do you hate, and why?
I'd prefer, in order of the candidates left standing: 1) Warren 2) Sanders 3) Buttigieg 4) Klobuchar….etc. I'd vote for any of them. Again – How does preference = hate?
In order …
Bennet
Sanders
Yang
that is the oddest sequence of preference I've seen in a long time.
Would you care to enlighten us about WHY you have those choices in order?
#2 and 3 change
I like Yang. He's everything we want/need.
Except no true D knows or trusts him. Though true Ds would rather lose lose than open their mind.
Still working for the thought police, flightless bird? For your information, "love to hate" is a long-standing and largely jocular expression.
Get a life.
Don’t forget Tulsi.
"Present"
Roger that.
You heard "Present". I heard "Done".
Tulsi Gabbard: Profile in Cowardice
"who hates moderates….." Ask Politico. It's their headline.
Please let's all come to our senses and get behind Elizabeth Warren.
Ok.
But if it's her, Trump will win.
But if it’s her, crazy Bernie, old white Joe, Boot-edge-edge, Spartacus, Yang, billionaires, Amy, Castro (not Fidel), Trump will win.
Only Tulsi has a chance in this current group.
"Present"
Bennet wins everywhere HRC won, and puts all the electorally flippable states in play:
PA
OH
MI
WI
AZ
I agree, assuming you make it Bennet/Amy.
But Michael just hasn't moved the meter. You got to nominate 'em before you can elect them.
which is how and why the parties suck and two party control of America is bad for democracy.
Unfortunately that may be true. It nice to see Pete speaking truth to liberal hypocrisy when he hit Warren back about how she was impure and took big donor money before she discovered her virtue , transferred her cash and declined big donor money.
if she is the nominee, I will vote for her and I was planning to donate some money. It won’t be a wine cave sized check but can she accept even $400 or $500 from a centrist DINO like me? I certainly don’t want to sullen her purity.
Rally round Amy! She rocked tonight.
She would be our strongest nominee…and the most effective in the White House.
Oh yes, yes, yes!
My heart’s with Pete.
My head is with Amy.
I'm leaning Amy/Pete.
i can live (barely) with Biden/Amy.
bernie would be a catastrophic defeat.
My head and heart (and money) are all with Amy!
Gotta feel sorry for Powerful Pear. Along with all the debate news from yesterday, we now know Trump is going after "Christianity Today" magazine because their editorial said Trump should be removed from office.
The more that boy Trump tweets, the more Pear is sweating.
The Pea r is faithful to Trump even unto his trillion dollar deficits. Nothing can shake his faith.
Christianity Today is supporting impeachment. Not really concerned. It’s doubtful that the Magazine will support ANY abortion loving Democrats.
Trumps support has grown, thanks to or friends the KOOK Democrats insanity. Your only hope of a competitive challenge to Trump is to nominate Hillary…..again.
I thought you thought drugs were bad. Cause you seem high on your own supply.
Please don’t look at this link.
https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2019/12/20/politics/cnn-poll-economy-2020-matchups/index.html?__twitter_impression=true
And, yet he still can't break 45% approval on 538's aggregate for his approval numbers, or go below 50% for his disapproval rating.
And even with positive views on the economy, he's practically neck and neck with a large field that has not settled on a candidate, instead of running way ahead.
I'll give you credit. You did use a legitimate source this time. But juxtaposing economic numbers against Trump's approval rating and head-to-heads does not impress me.
I can see why you are urging people to not look at the link.
After a host of economic good news, the article points out the polling found " Now, just two of those candidates hold edges at or above the error margin: former Vice President Joe Biden leads Trump nationally 49% to 44%, and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders tops Trump 49% to 45%. "
If people won't support Trump on the economy, if they will have him beaten by both the well-known/previous candidates of Biden and Sanders who cover pretty much the entire ideological spectrum of the Democratic Party — well, what's left?
Frankly, while Pence would be a nightmare President, he'd still be a giant leap for mankind step back toward a functioning country IMHO. Bill Weld, out in the Republican wilderness, would be a comparative godsend.
Phoenix: I'll be voting for Bill Weld in the Colorado Republican primary.
Do you think the powers that be will actually hold a caucus for presidential candidates? I'm asking, because I got the impression that in Colorado, and many other states, the state R parties are trying to grease the skids for #impotus.
No caucus …. anywhere. We passed the law that says there will be a Presidential primary by major parties.
Impeachment is so two days ago
Christianity Today is supporting removal from office.
If the Senate Rs had anything close to the courage of their stated convictions they would vote to remove, but not ban from future office and then the voters really would get to choose.
Here Pfruit….let me fix that for you:
Well constructed, Michael.
