Expect Colorado’s Senate race to become one of National focus in the coming months.
NBC has announced that District Atty. Ken Buck and U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet will appear together on “Meet the Press” on Sunday, October 17th and take questions from host David Gregory.
Be sure to watch that one, let’s not forget how exciting the Schaffer vs. Udall debate was on “Meet the Press” in late September 2008.
In fact, let’s revisit it in the video link below and talk about what we can expect from Buck and Bennet on “Meet the Press”. Do you think it will be more interesting?

excactly describes the Udall-Schaffer debate on MTP. It sure looked like Schaffer drank his own coffee and Udall’s too that morning, but as far as debates went that year, kind of a snooze.
But I have to agree with you, debates were pretty lame in ’08. 😉
but the MTP one wasn’t one of them. Viewers (and let’s be serious, the number of Colorado voters who watch Meet the Press numbers in the tens of thousands, if that) did get a good picture of how pugnacious Schaffer was, however, and might have gotten the impression Udall was severely jet-lagged or was taking cold medicine.
Maybe I misremembered it wrong like Mark Kirk. 😉
Can’t wait to hear Thurston Howell III try to convince a national audience that people from the western slope or the eastern plains are his homies.
This is going to be a massacre.
David Gregory asks — “Are the people on Colorado’s plains your homies?”
“Wuuuuushingtun is Bruhhhhken.
Luhveee?”
(Peeing my pants laughing.)
I’ll go pretty far defending Michael Bennet, but I admit, he is sharper after a cup of java or two. He was awesome at the first Romanoff-Bennet debate (the one at DU). I wanted to gouge my eyes out after the C-Springs one.
Bennet is much better one-on-one than he is a debater. His personality is conciliatory, not argumentative. He is great at coalition building, engaging people directly, being respectful, etc. I hope Guy Cecil gives him some fightin’ pills that day.
