Global Emergency Kitty Thread

  • by: Colorado Pols

UPDATE 1:00PM: More kitties urgently needed, reports CNN.

—–

As needed, please gaze into the eyes of this kitty instead of the economic/epidemic/electoral abyss.

If you have other suitably soothing images and non-crisis pertinent content, today seems like the day.

        1. The markets fell 1900 points this morning, a drop so severe trading was suspended.

The yield curve is, for the first time in history, below 1%.

We have a pandemic of a pathogen with a higher than 1 r0 and a significant cause fatality rate spreading across the country while the CDC chases it’s tail.

We’ve weakened our response capabilities by terminating the pandemic response commitee and allowing 700 vacancies to stack up in one of our key protective organizations, while lying to the American public about this disease and refusing to listen to what few remaining adults who have access to you.

BenKuck is busy stroking his inoperable gun.

ConMan is selling $100k tickets for lunch.

          Are we tired of winning?

          1. Not a nice thought, but I'm sorta hoping Anonymous shook hands with the CPAC attendee who now has a positive test for COVID-19.  And is able to travel with the *resident to the fund-raiser.

            1. NO. Absolutely not.

It won’t, but I honestly hope that the COVID-19 just mysteriously stops spreading. Or that someone competent figures out which levers to pull inside the GOV. And that NO ONE DIES.

Facing a real crisis is bad enough without sideways wishing opponents dead and it is no more fun or funny to do so online than it is to “joke” about having a gun while in line for the security check at the airport.

          2. This is as good a place as any to point out that the dude Trump placed in charge of the CDC believes that AIDS was God's punishment for the sins of homosexuality and passing out condoms in schools. Here's hoping there's actual science going on somewhere in the CDC.

  1. Epidemic, leading to pandemic, becoming endemic.  Until a vaccine is produced, which won't be until probably Sept., 2021 at the earliest, this virus will remain a worldwide problem.  (It's unknown if it will even stop once Spring arrives.)  So, be prepared for a very long term impact on the global, including US, economy.  Maybe this will result in massive GOP losses?  The US may actually be blessed (spoken by an atheist).
