  1. And now, just to prove Mattis' fears are justified, Trump is going full strongman, deploying unidentified riot troops

Unmarked, armed riot officers seen around D.C. won't say what agency they are from.

Armed riot officers without identifying marks or badges began manning the perimeter around the White House Wednesday morning, and now a Virginia congressman says he is working on legislation to stop it from happening again.

The unmarked security forces appeared early Wednesday following a calmer night in D.C. than the city had seen in recent days. However, unlike MPD or Capitol Police officers, the men now manning a pushed-back perimeter around the White House wore no badges, nameplates or any other identifying marks or insignia. In pictures posted to social media, most can be seen wearing plain t-shirts under their riot gear.

    1. Too bad no one saw this coming, eh?

Where the fuck is Fluffy, ..and PP?  Hey, Bart! ….how 'bout chiming in to tell us that what we see and hear isn't what is really happening?

  2. Interesting discussion today on Morning Joe re: how democracies fail.  So many signs for America: trashing the media, judiciary, intelligence community, peaceful protests, truth, etc., etc.

It was asked: "What comes next?"  The answer was stealing the election.  And, of course, we have many warnings about how Trump and the GOP are already de-ligitimatizing the upcoming election.  The question is whether the GOP (not Trump, obviously) will allow a fair election to take place knowing that they will lose power.  Magic 8 Ball says, "Not likely".  In which case, we will have to be prepared to fight for our country.

    1. There is one thing that gives me a glimmer of hope there.  Trump is stupid and so is his campaign.  There needs to be intelligence and strategic thinking in order to pull shit like that off.  Trump cares less about having people around him who know what their doing, even when it's trying to do things like this, and more about how much they fluff him up.

The Repubs who are smart enough to do this keep getting undercut by Trump's antics.  So it gets harder for them.  Not suggesting it can't happen, but that Trump's flaws make it more difficult for them to do it.
